I guess I’m the only one that likes her character. She tries to put up a front of profanities and sexual bravado but you can see that she’s just trying so hard for approval and self-fulfillment, but since her father is dead she started to branch out to others for that contentment.

Why was Dexter’s brother on such a you’re the only family i have we only each other, when he did have family… his father…that he killed. If he was on such a family approval mentality to look relatives he would have known about his father and tried to reconnect or something. Does the book explain why Dex’s bro kills their father?
God, they casted the perfect girl to play the sponsor. When she lit her place on fire I was like oh shit, crazy bitch. Makes you wonder if there are others she’s killed other than her ex (and if that event was intentional).
This season of Dexter is great. His sponsor’s gonna mess him up good, she’s nuts! I wonder what Dokes is gonna do now? And oh snap his sister gonna hook up with the old guy! This show and Weeds are the two big reasons I love Showtime! :lovin:
I always love the intro to the show, I could watch it 100 times. Extreme close ups of things people do every morning to make it look gross is brilliant. :bgrin:
Am I the only person who kind of felt bad for Doakes when Dexter dicked him out? Or was there stuff with him in the first season that I didn’t see? (I didn’t see the first season)
Yeah the music and cinematography (especially in Hi Def) is flawless. The meat chewing and shoelace “tightening” parts are notably creepy.:wasted:

I have a feeling if she does find Dexter’s deepest darkest secret it might end up being a tool to controlling him, considering the spell she’s already wrapped around him. (I mean Dex breaking and entering for a fuckfest? I just hope the season finale won’t end with her trying to set Dex’s ex’s house aflame…
Doakes was asking for , if you treat Dex like an innocent-before-proven-guilty person what Doakes was doing was totally out of line. Firing Doakes might be a be worse though since he now has more free time to snoop around.[/details]
Has anyone else noticed the trend of damaged women on the show? Seriously, NONE of the central female characters have even an ounce of “normalcy” (although ‘normal’ is a relative term).
That depends on how you look at it. If you want to go by history, then:
Rita is normal now, but she had an abusive druggie for an ex.
Deb had big trauma in her life, but before that she had a semi-normal upbringing with Harry and Dexter.
But both are pretty normal now, considering their pasts.
It’s very fact that they have “pasts” that I’m getting at. Just by going at averages the fact that they’ve all been through so much stuff is amazing. But this isn’t anything I’m criticizing, just an observation.
is it me or did they stray from the books? i saw Mr. brooks again the other night and that AA shit is kind of similar. dont think that i dont like the show, i’ve been watching it since it started, but there is some uncanny similarities.
