the originals explanation to vampires makes no fucking sense. currently watching the first episode…confused how silas plays into the plot of the originals…these foos just said dark arts+mommy=first vampires

Now I will admit that I haven’t watched TVD all the way thru (meaning since it first came on) but are most of the females that fucking scandalous? I’m refering to the gypsy bitch.
@Gimpy, I am the same way, kind of skipped the first two seasons outside of the pilot episode but yes, the only ones that aren’t are usually extras, dead or phased out of focus within a season.
Silas is an Immortal being that came to be via magic and some bullshit like that. The mother of the Originals I think used a similar magic that made them the first vampires but without the complete immortality I think because the standard answer is Mother Nature/the Universe is a bitch that won’t take shit like breaking its laws lying down and infused them with a weakness. So in a roundabout way it makes sense but I recommend not thinking too hard on it, motherfuckers change the rules of magic every half season.
I like the origin story on this show… they were an ordinary human family several hundreds of years ago in ancient America; one of the younger boys of the family was killed apparently by a werewolf… Dad has the wife/mother (who happens to be a witch) cast a spell to make them stronger and for protection against the wolves, and the result was the first family of vampires. Mother Nature put in the weaknesses, though they seem to be not that bad for the Originals compared to all vampires that came after them. I think the wood from that particular white oak tree is the only thing that has been shown to kill them permanently. Sheeeit, I’d sell my soul for that kind of power… to be truly “unkillable”, and effectively immortal? + super speed, strength (it looks to be somewhere around Spiderman level strength…and most likely stronger if you happen to be a hybrid wolf/vamp like Klaus), agility/reflexes, supernatural healing factor, superhuman senses and compulsion? Sign me up for that. If you get an enchanted ring, you could even blend in and still pass as an ordinary person. Life would kick so much ass if this kind of stuff was real.
*sidenote-- theoretically, a vampire would be in trouble in that inevitable moment in the (possibly) distant future when all other life in this world is gone…then there would be nothing to feed on, and you’d starve to death.
So far, Originals is slightly more interesting to me at the moment, perhaps because it’s the new thing.
*such a shame that Elana and Caroline’s roommate is already dead… a fine NEW piece of ass is always welcome on any show, even on this one where the line-up is already legendary.
