Defenders Unite! (The MvC3 Hulk Team-Building Thread)

Maybe Hulk and Wesker work so well with eachother is because they have both very high intelligence stats?
This is not a statement, it’s a question.

The intelligence in Hulk’s statistics is actually referring to Banner, his alter-ego. The reason why Wesker & Hulk work so well together is because of their mix of Strength & Speed. Wesker’s OTG assist is one of the quickest in the game, allowing Hulk to extend his powerful combos. And Hulk’s AA Gamma Charge is one of the strongest, and helpful for getting people off of Wesker.

im running the same team since release… its just sick…

hulk: H,S,M,M,H,S -> gamma wave ultra -> iron man uni beam ultra = 720k dmg
hulk: j.S, M, S, M,M,H,S, gamma wave ultra -> iron man uni beam ultra = 767k dmg
iron man: cL, cM, H, S, M,M, S, smartbomb L, uni beam ultra -> hulk QCB ultra = 800k dmg

So far my set team is arthur/hulk. Out of these chars, who should I pick?

Doom
Dormammu
Mags
Phoenix
Storm
Dog
Zero
Iron man

Doom helps hulk approach with Rocks, and this also helps Arthur. Missiles are good here too, since presumably Arthur will give Hulk an approach assist. I don’t know that there are many DHC opportunities here though.

Dormammu you can use Hole as a sort of shield for projectiles and to keep them off, or purification to cover Arthur against jumpins. Good DHCs opportunities into Flame too. If you use Arthur on point as a battery you can save your meter for Dorm/Hulk who both burn through it.

Dog cold star and Iron man beam assists work well here, but I don’t know much about the characters.

i noticted that too i use wolverine on point with hulk and ammy behind him. wolverine and hulk with ammy assist in the corner :wow:

Ok, so i’m experimenting with
Hulk/Dante/Taskmaster (in no particular order)

Hulk - Gamma Wave
Taskmaster - Aim Master (front)
Dante: right now Jam seesion, but occasionally do the Y-assist.

Any holes that you can think of both offensively and/or defensively that i may need to fix? I do plan on keeping this team since it’s taken me this long to have a solid team. So please, any suggesttions would help.

Im currently running: Ammy on point with the downward fireball assist ( cant remember the name) Then hulk with either gamma wave or gamme charge AA vert, and finally akuma with his tatsu assist.

I use this team with all out assault in mind constant attacking even against a sentinel player ammy air dash into overhead works well with a akuma tastsu if they are blocking. Hulk plays only one role in this team. Destroy anything that moves, things are going wrong i call hulk and insta KO an opponent.

This team has got me 72-12 and is worth a look at :slight_smile:

I’m looking at running MODOK with Hulk. Anyone doing this and find it works or doesn’t work?

I’m thinking any of the following possibilities:
Modok | Hulk | Akuma
Modok | Hulk | Sent
Modok | Hulk | Phoenix

I think leaving Hulk to be anchor is one of worst things you can do.

I totally agree. But I do think he’s one of the best “middle men” in the game. Basically my gameplan is to let my point character do all the work, approaching my opponent for me; this isn’t a problem with Hulk’s powerful Gamma Wave assist. When I land a hit, I’ll finish my combo with a DHC into one of Hulk’s versatile supers. Now he’s in and able to mount an offense.

Starting Hulk is probably the best thing to do IMO.

Hulk is a bad point char too. Builds crap meter. Tofu Warrior does exactly what I do, leave him in the middle, bring him in safely and if he has meter, he’s really dangerous. I use Arthur/Hulk/Dormammu, Hulk helps out arthur tremendously and when he gets in, he usually has at least 2-3 bars which is dangerous vs any char in the game

Just started working on a Hulk/Haggar/Sent team. Surprisingly nice DHC opportunities, really digging it so far.

I’m not sure that Hulk on point is a bad idea. He’s most dangerous with two good assists (otg+covering). Without otg assist his damage output is severely limited and without covering assist he’s easy to outzone.

Also look at my videos - Hulk builds almost 3/2 of a meter during most of his combos. Not bad at all.

My team is Hulk on point, Spencer has my 2nd character and Chris as my 3rd these are both batteries for Hulk, I can make use of both assists in the corner with Hulk netting over 1million damage just with 2 bars. And set a trap with landmine and then crossup shenanigans, Chris is good for keep-away against Sentinels/Wolverines and can abuse my flamethrower for free meter if it hits. Spencer can DHC with his Bionic Maneuvers from Hulk’s Gamma tsunami, and then if I have a bar left I can from Maneuvers into Sweep combo with Chris.
Oh and by the way

HULK IS THE STRONGEST THERE IS!! His taunt makes me lol so hard

I’m also trying out MODOK and Hulk. The AA assist is nice for MODOK, while both Balloon bomb and the beam help Hulk advance; the beam has decent durability and damage, while the bomb has medium durability (!) and allows Hulk to combo if it hits. The only problem is that the bomb is slower and doesn’t take up as much space. Not sure which I like more yet.

Sentinel is decent, just because his assist is so amazing, and he and Hulk have good DHCs to eachother from any situation. The only problem is that Sentinel has a lot of terrible matchups, and he’s really not that amazing of a point character without XF.

Akuma and Pheonix, I have no experience with.

She Hulk is a decent choice as third, as her low OTG assist is great for combos and at helping MODOK open the opponent up at close range, since his offense has a lot of overheads. The only problem I’m having is deciding on a team order. None of these three are exceptional anchor characters. At this point I’m thinking She-Hulk/Hulk/MODOK, just because Hulk is so bad on his own, while MODOK is pretty decent at running the clock on characters trying to abuse X-Factor.

Yeah I finally got to play a buddy of mine who’s significantly better and I ran most of the night with Modok/Hulk/Sent. Modok psionic/Hulk aa/Sent otg.

My Modok mind you needs a lot of work but the bigger issue is my friends team of choice counters the shit out of Hulk and Sent and Modok doens’t do so hot either (Ammaretsu/Dormammu/Felicia). I think I’m going to have to drop either Hulk or Sent for a more ‘standard’ size character so I can handle the shorties better. I’m worried Felicia/Wolverine/V.Joe/Amma are all going to fuck me up if I have an entire team of high hitters.
