Guys I need some input. My friend online who I game with for awhile have been playing MvC3 and everytime he plays my X-23/Task/Hulk he gets mad, says im being cheap and running away gamma waving all day. He says my team is boring and that it’s a cheap as hell team.
Normally this baby crap don’t bother me but he usually has respect for my game. Now all of a sudden it’s some contest to show off. The team itself works really well and I only can go on the offensive if the opponent is actually not spamming random moves or sitting their waiting for me to run into an inevitable trap. It’s fustrating because if I win im cheap but if I lose I suck. WTF!? I’ve been training hours on end perfecting my craft. My team is built to go from offensive to defensive to offensive at will. It’s not a one trick pony. It’s certainly not the best or cheapest.
He finally gets one win off of me and all of a sudden my team is boring and free. considering all the bullshit Sentinel teams i’ve destroyed im trying to figure out what im doing wrong and is my team really boring. Please. input is helpful. Thanks.
xShouffx: He’s upset it’ a new game and he hasn’t figured out how to beat you. It’s the classic case of whining. Tell him to ask questions if he doesn’t understand something, and to stop complaining. Honestly, if he’s going to show off about 1 win out of god knows how many, you might need to consider not playing games w/him anymore. Sessions are meant for improvement for both players, until he learns to lose gracefully, he’ll never be good
I had a few problems with Zeros myself. It helped some just to go into training with Zero a bit and figure out which of his normals did the whole multi-hitting thing, and take advantage of Hulk’s armor when I know it’s not going to multi-hit.
Your team is not cheap, and it is not boring. X-23 has one of the best Hi-Lo games in MvC3 and Tasky is a problem with his pressure game. I would think it takes skill to command a team like that (since I’m still practicing with X-23 and I haven’t got the hang of Taskmaster yet), but just ignore him. Like Nori said, he’s probably just mad because it’s NOT like MvC2, and he’s basically starting from scratch. You got a good team on your hands, keep it.
Been loving Hulk/Ryu/Storm team I stole from some nameless person who is in no way an EVO top 8 player… Not sure what assist to run though. At the moment. i got hulk with AA charge, Ryu with Hurrican kick, and Storm with whirlwind. I’m liking Ryu’s and Storms chioces- except whirlwind pushes people out of range for hulk to smash, but it helps Ryu out in his zoning game. Hulk’s anti-air is also very good, but I sometimes switch to gamma wave and it’s just as useful.
I have been using Hulk/Storm/Sentinel I really want to find some better combos with hulk for my team any ideas? I’m a noob at the forum and all the terms most in this thread has the button icons. ANywho any good combos for my team?
I’m thinking over subbing out Spencer from my Hulk/BioCom/Storm team. He’s useful in a Guile way, but I think I could find someone a little more powerful. Any suggestions?
lalala i was messin around w/ hulk in training mode today bc hes on my team with sentinel on charge drones and i got a prety neat combo for corner or near corner so here it is
anythin to :s: + :a1:
then u do jump up into the air :h: :s: then u fall on the earth and hit real fast :h: :s: and then u go into the air again and then u :h: :s: them then u land and u do OTG GAMMA WAVE attack and then cancel it into the flying rock super. this does a lot of damage,
this works good off of a :h: if u time the :s: so that it hits as late as possible
So far, I’ve been testing Hulk/Morrigan/Doom with either Hulk or Morrigan on point. They DHC very well, Morrigan helps Hulk build meter, and Doom helps Hulk get in and trap people in corners. Not to mention… they all share the color green. xP
I think you should toy with the order of the team instead of drop him. I am running chris, spencer and hulk at the moment in that order. Spencer before hulk is a really nice dhc opportunity into gamma crush 800,000 damage easy after a simple setup. Chris with gamma wave support is a good zoned and meter builder, Spencer with his upward grapple assist means chris can easily extend combos, Spencer himself is a good anti fireball character with gamma wave or chris shot assist to give him cover and hulk with all the meter and x factor is a beast. Only problem I see right now is hulk vs a zoned as last man standing or if chris is left to close it out on his own.
I have been running Dorm on point with hulk and sentinal but i have been trying to find an alternative character to fill sentinal’s roll of ranged assist. Im thinking of trying Iron Man a little bit because i have done poorly with Doom on my team so far.
My main team right now is Hulk (gamma charge)/Sent (drones)/Doom (rocks). I may have played some of you already online for the PS3. Drones and molecular shield help out a lot. There are some fun DHC possibilities as well.
I’ve been playing Hulk/X-23/Sent, and originally I was doing really really well, but I’ve lost just about a million in a row, and I’d like to mix up my team/actually learn some characters besides Hulk. Is X-23 a decent choice as a partner? My team has incredibly low chemistry I feel, so I’m welcome to literally any suggestions. Thanks in advance =]
edit: just read some of Tofu Warrior’s very helpful posts, I’ll hit the lab again. Would still love some thoughts though. From reading this thread it seems like Doom is a great partner… I also run Wesker sometimes, is he a better choice than X?
