Drones assist for hulk is far from overrated. It is bar none probably the best assist for hulk along with hidden missles and ammy cold star. It keeps them locked down and allows for certain mixups that ppl wouldn’t normally fall for if hulk was using something like a fast beam assist or just by himself. But if you are running hulk, sent, task that is def a very solid team!

I dunno, I might use drones if I’m dealing with Deadpool or somebody, but I never really had a need to lock down. Mostly either two things happen when facing my Hulk…

You press a button, I punish with a TOD
You turtle, I use Gamma Tornado xx Gamma Tsunami

I still think Aim of Hawkeye is Hulk’s best assist, since certain combos off Gamma Charge can be extended with it, but I might try out. My team’s getting too predictable for my rank…

Spider-Man DHC’s into Hulk wonderfully, Hulk can get in for free with raw tag after Spidey’s web throw to the corner.

pretty sure the team works vs “high level players” i mean if you say it like that, i probably play against some of the best comp in usa, so i dont know what you guys are talking about.

Just wanted to pop in and say that Strange with bolts seems really good for Hulk.

Gamma wave with bolts has been working so well to keep people out and snipe assists. Bolt’s let Hulk combo off of gamma charge mid screen; I call Bolt’s while canceling s.M or f.M into H Charge. Depending on the distance, sometimes it crosses underneath as it’s hitting allowing you to reverse a cornered situation.

You can use it in combos to drive people to the corner as well. Something like s.M (f.M+Bolts)xxChargeM then follow with s.L or Charge AA. Hulk can do a nice jump loop with bolts with j.S j.LMM j.L(j.M+Bolts)S that adds some nice distance traveled to his combos.

It lets him combo off of a max range j.H too. If you’re quick enough you can dash forward and j.S and Bolts will cancel out the bounce so you can use it later in the combo. I’ve been doing j.H+Bolts dash forward j.S j.LMM j.LMS into whatever.

SoV works after all of his hypers, and real well as a THC with Quake and Crush. It’s really useful when you see Crush is going to miss, you can cancel into SoV and not lose the kill.

Anyways, Strange is awesome, mess around with him and Hulk.

Hey guys, I just want an opinion on my team real quick. Any advice would be great because I’m a bit at a loss. I’m running Amaterasu (Cold Star)/Hulk (Gamma Charge or AA Charge) and I can’t decide between Arthur or Akuma as my anchor.

Any advice?

Yes, yes I do or rather did. I played strange, hulk, doom or hulk, strange, doom but are you saying that drones are not good for Hulk because if thats what you’re saying thats cool and all but YOU’RE WRONG!!! It gives hulk the necessary space to make his way in and keep the opponent locked down and he can even go for crouch short to open them up which can catch them during the spaces where they are not in block stun!

Anyways, I’m having trouble picking a 3rd for my team. I run Hulk/Dormammu and want to keep that shell since they have a ton of synergy as already discussed. My third character is what I’m not sure about. Right now its between Shuma, Doc Strange and MODOK.
-I feel like all of MODOK’s assist’s are useful to hulk, and his THC last forever letting hulk combo.
-Shuma’s mystic ray assist is amazing for hulk and dorm, but is it worth it for a terrible character?
-Strange’s assists are all viable, but Bolts seems best. But I sacrifice an easy OTG that Shuma provides for Hulk.

What do you guys think? Thanks!

Do you guys think there is any better option than Doom anchor for GX’s team of Spencer/Hulk/Doom? I’ve been toying with the team composition because I’m not really a Doom lover (trying dorm with dark hole, for instance). Any ideas?

if you were unaware, you can use hulks command throw between the hits of bolts. Its truly absurd. I believe books, and rocks/crush have good synergy too.

We mess around with all the same characters apparently. I’m trying to make Hulk (charge)/Strange (bolts)/Modok (bomb) work right now actually.

I was using Hulk/Strange/Dormammu before that though, and it’s a really solid team. You can do a couple real nice corner to corners with bolts and dark hole. Bolts will let you combo them about half screen into a wall bounce, and dark hole lets you smack them into the ground without using your groundbounce. Strange and Dormammu are absolutely best buddies as well; there’s a lot about their synergy in the Strange forum.

I really like Mystic Ray, but I think it scales way too much to be useful for Hulk. One thing I miss is If you tap it right before a ground throw it’ll OTG into a decent amount of damage. I always go back to Gorath because I love his combos, but I really think he needs a team built around him to work well.

Thanks for the input! Mystic Ray seems to cover alot of Hulks weak points, as well as providing an OTG, but it does scale a bit. Is there any chance you have a video of the corner to corner you described? Its hard for my to learn just through notations, but a notation would help a bunch too!

I can try to record something tomorrow. I think all we’ve got at this place is a flip video thing though. Regardless, I’ve got a lot of notations written down in a notebook somewhere.
