Jcool813 Dude you were on point with the advice I can do this now, although the slight pause made a huge difference. One thing I’d like to point out to everyone that’s having a hard time with this, when your on the joystick there’s really no delay from the transition of crouch+Dash but if your a person using a controller you don’t want to lift your thumb from crouch, you’ll have to get use to trying to dash straight from crouch without lifting your thumb and you should see results.
:woot:
I still can’t do it. I can’t even do the dash U2 by it’s self. My inputs in the training room is perfect but nothing comes out. Maybe I should experiment with using turbo 3x punch to see if it’s my directional input timing is off or am I pressing 3x punch at the wrong time.
I can do it after a dash on its own now. What helped me was to end in up instead of up-back/forward and experiment with pressing the X3 punch at different times.
i could not do dash ultra more than 2% of the time on pad, and im pretty consistant with it on stick like 50%. too bad i lose all ability to do everything else on stick. I think my problem was i simply couldnt dash fast enough on pad
Been trying and trying and just cant do it.
I’ll just wait for easier buffered inputs in AE. I’ve got it twice ever out of like 250+ tries. shrug.
You get to hold charge for 26 frames dash is 19 and the dash takes up 2 if done quickly enough. Somebody has to figure out how long an average character stays in the air when hit w/ an unmashed ex mgu.
i have been trying this combo for almost a week and have yet to do it FTL!
its funny i can dash ultra really well on stick but i struggle with walk ultra. Again i think i couldnt dash ultra because i wasnt dashing fast enough on pad, so that may be you guys problem. Also try plinking the ultra input with lk so you get 3 tries. the plink and the negative edge. double tapping you get 4 tries both presses and both negative edges, but theyre all spaced out at least a frame.
it seems my biggest issue is with the down back input. for some reason i constantly go from down to back, without the downback, resulting in the ultra not coming out. its just so weird that this happens only with deejays dash ultra 2, and not ANY OTHER qcf or hcf/qcb, hcb move in the entire game with me.
by the way, whats this plinking with lk technique? i tried it, but im not sure what input im supposed to get in on the screen for it.
i was able to dash-U2 quite a few times last time i tried, like 5 in a row, but than after that, nothing the rest of the night. so far me its the downback issue, and the actual ppp timing.
try to change the motion to target the downback
don’t worry about plinking the PPP. Doubling tapping is sufficient. Sometimes i tap 4x PPP if i’m not secure with my dash ultra.
the input for plinked ultra should be
:lp::mp::hp::lk:
:lp::mp::hp:
use whatever u feel helps u most, double tapping and plinking are both good.
i tried your plinking method but it didnt work as well for me. double tapping works best for me but that could also be because i’ve been double tapping it ever since i got it to work. the hardest part for me doing this is still the dash from down back.
I have put many hours into this as when playing, I am always hitting my ex.mgu after hit confirming. I tried it 40-50 times in training the other night. I successfully did the Ex.MGU > Dash > U2 3 times, but the dash never landed close enough for the U2 to connect
I recorded it with inputs and hopefully someone can spot where I am going wrong.
It’s frustrating because I hit this a few times a few months back but decided to focus on my core game…now I can’t do it lol.
wut.
they’re making inputs even more ridiculous?
this combo is hard to do. buffered inputs or a better dash were necessary for deejay.
well do the ultra without a dash, it’s a lot easier
[1]7 MUG_EX [1 charge] [6 walk a bit] 32147 PPP
the walk a bit part is very large, you can walk the equivalent of several small square in the training mode (i’ll say up to the distance after 3 blocked 2LP, hard to tell the max though)
*you can walk forward without really caring
*you will having to input the reverse tiger knee motion really quickly though
*you must not miss the direction ‘1’ during this motion [i say that because from left to right, i fail 80% of the time because of that, i’m pretty much more accurate from right to left]
*i heard it’s character specific then, but i don’t know more.
side note: for these kind of ultra, i used to do 1617_9 because it’s easier for me, but it doesn’t work with “walking forward”. The full reverse tiger knee motion without shortcut is needed there. It works for guile too, thus i suppose it work for all ultra of this kind (blanka U2, claw).
funny because if opponent is in corner, empty jumping with you near him but too far to ultra, well. Just walk and ultra ^^
- disregard the second half of it.
At 0.17, I get the dash ultra but it does not connect - this happens me all the time!
At 0.44, I get the dash ultra and it does connect
It seems there is a difference in my timing for the dash between the two.
yeah different dash timing garak
from what i was to understand you had to input the dash after the full MGU animation, but in garaks vid, he definitely dashes during his MGU…
jesus this is really tough. ill study that.
Just work on the Dash from crouch and all you guys having issues will get results and I just figured out why this won’t work for most of us, it only really becomes consistent when you dash right away from ex-mgu although you will have to hit forward hard so you actually get a dash cause sometimes it seems like you input a dash but don’t get anything. I us to have issues with this combo and its the hardest combo into ultra in the game but AE will be easier to nail so don’t dwell on this you guys, if you can’t do it just prepare for AE and you’ll be fine.
