Yeah I don’t know what they’re thinking with Deejays dash. He hops forward then slightly goes backwards. When any character is dashing towards someone it looks like they’re building a ton of momentum. When Deejay dashes towards you it just looks stupid, he looks like a cripple.
yea he needs to get better dashes.
i feel like capcom gives characters bad things in order to say “play this character another way”

I’m certain that if they made DJ’s dash better to something comparable to Guile he would be so much more viable. With Guile I can dash U1 9/10 and with DJ I’ll land it 1/100. It’s ridiculas.

Come on tho. Its really not that hard. I got it on PS3 controller 1 of 10. The only hard part is the dash.
Do we already know if walk Ultra works on the same people as Dash ultra?
And is there a solid list of who it does and doesn’t work on? I remember seeing one…
yeah, maybe if it had a built in macro with the dash->U2 input sequence in 1 button.
it’s a very interesting concept though. I guess all diagonal (i.e. UF) inputs require 2 buttons presses?
Ha, what if they made one with EIGHT directional buttons (U,D,L,R, DB,DF,UB,UF). Mashing DP would be revolutionized.

Wow that’s ridiculas lol. Like some said ^ you could get 8 directional buttons and just double tap 6 and slide to 7 (thinking as a directional pad on your PC. That would be kinda ridiculas to get your mind around but it would be super funny seeing someone at a tournament with one of those. If someone did pattent a non-stick stick like that and then go on to get top 8 in Evo or something the sales would go through the roof. A good little business idea if you can play well with them.
I’m using one right now, and let me tell you Dee Jay’s dash U2 is still terrible. Everything else is much easier, but I haven’t been able to pull off dash U2 once. Walk U2 is really easy though.
MGU-Dash-Climax Beat
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong with MGU-Dash-Climax Beat? I can do Dash Ultra with Guile and Vega Perfectly with no issues but why can’t I get down Deejay’s? I’ve had it come out randomly before but I don’t know what I did right!? Only thing I noticed when I reproduced it was that I did it slightly fast but when I tried the same thing again it doesn’t work. This technique has me completely stumped, I’ve tried different tempos or timings faster and slower but get nothing? I’m sure its not my rotation cause I can get this Ultra no problem with the walk but its more important to me if a get the Dash-in consistently, its much more concrete to have down plus its the only way to get the Climax Beat with j.hp, c.lp, c.mp+MGU. I really need some help badly, I’m on the fighters-pad my joystick broke. :shake:
His dash is longer than those characters meaning you have to change you’re timing on the second half of the motion after the dash.
you’re probably dashing too early. if the ultra doesn’t even come out you’re dashing too early, or you’re missing downback. If you’re trying to do it on pad i suggest you give up to be honest. i’ve done it once in ten tries then couldn’t do it again. I used to play pad but can’t anymore. Are you using thumb stick or d pad?
I guarantee since you’re using Pad you’re not forward dashing fast enough and you lose your charge. Nothing solves that problem. Your thumb can only move so fast. Switch to stick man.
Until then, use EX MGU -> Ultra 1. I guarantee it’s your forward dash that’s slow, not the SPD input.
@ Jcool813 I don’t think its my Fighters-pad I can us it just fine and I would use a stick but like I said before mine broke so all I have left is my Akuma fight-pad. I might be dashing too early though your right cause I don’t even get an Ultra out when I dash so I’ll try and delay my dash a split second later to see if I get any results. For the most part I thank everyone who took the time in reading my post on the subject.
no problem. i want everyone to get this technique. I spent months struggling. I have a grasp over 90% of the mistakes made during dash ultra.
