Dee Jay's midscreen EX MGU Dash Ultra 2!

After 150+ days straight of practicng, I finally have this stupid technique down! haha what you do is:

1.) hold down back (d/b) and make sure you have a charge (test this by throwing a max out or mgu to test the timing if you’re not sure).

2.) dash by pressing forward twice (ff), and on the second dash, IMMEDIATELY start rotating the stick from forward to up back (Forward, down forward, down, down back, back, up back) you should finish the input just before he finishes his dash. HOLD UP BACK.

3.) The game stores the charge, so by this point all you have to do is press all three punches (I would highly suggest twice in a row) and you should get it no problem!

for EX MGU to U2:

1.) repeat step 1

2.) do NOT mash the EX MGU for the full hits, just press it for the input and that’s it (I found out today you only have to press it twice to get the full hits :P) Your input for this should be:

d/b charge, u/b + pp, immediately back to d/b

3.) once the opponent start to fall, you can do the dash ultra. From here, follow the steps above!!

Maybe mention that you have to hit neutral before inputting the dash. If you’re trying to dash really fast you often don’t hit neutral.

C 3s explanation is the reason why I performed my FIRST few dash ultra 2 w/ DJ. Hell I started doing dash Ultra 1 too. I’m not gonna try to do EX MGU -> U2 though.

After seeing how impractical it is for me on my joystick it’s more of a disservice to be trying to pull it off. I’d rather hold Ultra 2 to protect from jump-ins and stuff careless meaty attacks. My hands aren’t fast enough to naturally do it right under pressure.

Honestly the EASIEST way (FOR ME) is DB -> F,F,D+B,U+F, PPP

The timing is hard because you have to go so fast from DB to F,F and then because of Deejays shitty dash you have to just as fast go to D+B, U+F

I tried to record myself doing it (my stick is light modded so it helps a bit in seeing the inputs) but i couldn’t hold the camera and play at the same time properly (I was holding the camera with my neck lmao)

I got it like about 2-3 times out of 15 or so attemps on P2 side, none on P1 side but i’ll upload it anyways.

So i’m confused, are people having problems with actually doing the dash>>u2 or are you guys just showing how you guys do it?

cuz as far as i’m concerned the hardest part of ex MGU dash u2 is figuring out when to dash in order to have enough charge to get the ultra out. anyone have tips for that.

The MoD1nd1d3 video covers walk >> U2. the dash >> U2 should connect on everyone since the dash will get you closer without losing the charge than walking up and doing it would.

The list is helpful but dash is universal which makes it so essential to Deejay’s comeback factor.

I honestly can’t walk U2 on the weird list so I decided to try even hard to get the dash U2

Walk U2 gets progressively harder to do, the longer your combo xx EX MGU is. Dash U2 is consistantly hard, but at least its consistant lol.

I used Adon cuz he has a small hitbox, just to show that you can do dash U2 on anybody.

Thanks for the video, exactly what I was looking for. I have hit the dash u2 twice in several hundred attempts, but even *listening * to your button presses is very helpful. Good idea about the double press PPP.

One big question to all DeeJay stick players…are you using octo or square gate when trying this?

Square. The only game I can tolerate an octo is blazblue but i hate that game.

I wouldn’t wanna try playing a charge character with an octagonal gate, guess that would kinda suck. Square gate is definitely the one to use for chargers.
And I agree on Blazgreen hate, this shit’s too crazy for me.
