I think it’s horrible that they changeg MGU from charge+up to mash…wtf…what’s next instant win buttons?
sounds weird to change somebodies move in that way.
they should just leave things the way they are.
in HDR it was both a charge and mash. i dont mind mash i can do it but MGP had properties that went through fireballs so it was nice to just pull it out without punching first.
I just don’t like mash moves. i think the idea of a mash moves are just too easy?
I don’t wanna be in the middle of trying to to do a combo like cross up j. MK into some cr. jabs and then all of a sudden i get a machine gun uppercut that i did not want
This is 3rd translation info… and seeing the demo vids of Deejay pretty unbelievable.
did wee see lp whiffs then MGU or crouches and jumps then MGU?
Deejay’s MGU, in SSF4, likely works the way it has in SSF2, ST, SFA3, and HDR
as malakyoma pointed out. MGU :d: (2sec) :u: + p, mash p for full hits.
Yup.

In this vid you clearly see the guy trying to charge down, up + p and just getting the jump, so he asks Seth the command, to which he replies “tap”. Couple of whiffed jabs later, MGU. Happens at around 6:00.
Soo i’m not maining Deejay?
I don’t think this will cause me to not use Dee Jay. It’s an unfortunate change sure, but MGU wasn’t even a move I used very often.
So I think I’m alright. Basically until HD Remix where it could be used to negate fireballs I would always use the upkicks in combos or as anti-air. I couldn’t see what MGU had that upkicks didn’t. Maybe I just didn’t know enough about Dee Jay though…
What did you guys use MGU for?
That was probably hasty… I hardly used it as an AA as you could miss a few hits and s.hp was easy cheesy.
SSF2 dizzy [or re-dizzy?] in a combo, beat FB on start up [like FK could]; didn’t have up kicks till ST
ST more dmg and invince frames than up kicks?; i didn’t play ST much
SFA3 didn’t just V-ism have up kicks?; I was an A-ism junky
HDR negates FB
Blanka, Chun, Honda, & Gen can sustain a mashing flurry; can Deejay? looks like he can’t.
i think only chun can link her mash to her ultra though. Deejay should be able to (which is a link to ultra with no super bar although you could just wait and use dread kicks which is better)
I doubt MGU will negate fireballs in SSIV. Most of the other changes made to HDR weren’t carried over to SFIV. (Like Ryu’s fake fireball or Honda LP headbutt negating fireballs)
well it wont be used much that’s all. Basically like ST but in hdr since it’s faster it’s pretty good on wake up actually.
So he’ll be Kofi Kingston from Africa?
I think Machine Gun Punch switched to a Mash move offers alot of new combos and tricks, i mean the recovery on the EX Version looks great, maybe you can juggle with Up Kicks after the Punches?
Im also not that good with pianoing but for the sake of deejay i would at least try it and not just say: “mhh mashmove… meh i dont play deejay anymore”
Most of his combos start with punches into special moves, so i guess DeeJay players dont have to learn pianoing in the first place…
for example Chunlis Hard trial… uhm… 2 i think wants you to j. HK than cr. mk and than lk Legs… that is so easy even without pianoing… i just double tab the buttons ^^
j. HK (+HK) then cr. MK (+MK) and then just tapping st. LK a single time… that are 5 inputs and i dont have to think about the legs being to long to combo into the following cr. mk -> super.
To everyone who seriously thinks about maining DeeJay in the future.
Deejay feelt different from SSF2 to SSF2T and even to SSF2T HD Remix … i dont think Capcom made that decision out of nowhere ^^
I love ST Deej, so I’ll try him. He looks fast, and it looks like he has the same things going for him that HDR Jay does. (An answer for every situation.)
Piano combos are sexy, I’ll just get the fucking glove to do ex upper to ultra or whatever new shit he’s got.
What impressed me most was how fast he moved. Always had fast walk speed, but in this game it seems nut when compared to the current rushdown characters movement speed.
I like it being a mash move, part of the reason it wasnt used too often was because of the difficulty of doing it, though the reward was well worth it.
I wonder if MGP is gonna have a small invulnerable frame like it did in SSF2.
EX MGP out of the corner knocks away way too damn far too really do anything.
maybe FADC -> Ultra. lol
I think they changed his st.mk to his cl.mk from ST. no more 2 hits.
i think the entire game is faster. just watch T.Hawk and he moves really fast even though he’s a slow character.
Yes the switch to mash for his special uppercut has got my mouth watering… I’m a Chun player… so Dee Jay’s inputs will come sooooooo easy for me.
Dee Jay will be middle to upper middle tier… and I love that!
i like that positivity ! ^^
a lot of people seem to worry about that switch to a mash move but i think it offers great possibilities for Combos and stuff.
Even if it takes away something of that old school feeling.
I wish they didnt change machine gun punch but it shouldnt change that much.
