In a perfect world, he’d have his old voice. Nobody’s gonna be able to say “Max Out” and “ALLLRIGGGHHHT” the way the original voice actor did.
Nobody is SF4 has really thick accents so im sure itll be fine, in that regard.
Yeah, this is a rare case where an authentic native voice would put me off.
But it didn’t in ST and new challengers, right? Because the SF4 guys have thus far almost completely ignored HDr as a source for pretty much anything. So, y’know, probably not going to happen.
I can honestly picture his other ultra having a very long opening cinematic:
first it zooms in on his face… way in
pauses for a moment and…
“MAX OUT” (in the original voice)
and then completely destroys whoevers on the receiving end of that awesomeness.
2nd ultra is going to involve a marraca beat down. Bet it. :nunchuck:
Doesn’t his currnet ultra look a little… bleak? They’ll probably and different camera angles later or something, maybe a final, cinematic hit? Is there any ultra in SF4 that doesn’t have a cinematic part other than projectiles?
Balrogs Ultra,
Blankas Ultra,
im not sure but i think Rufus Ultra too
Rufus’ has a bit of an angle change at the final hit.
why are we caring about cinematics in ultras?
the last thing we need is more disc space taken up by something flashy when we could have something exciting.
Uhhh, I really don’t think ultra camera angles make a significant dent in the disc space.
While MGU isn’t DeeJay’s go-to AA (he’s got normals/up kicks for that), I’ve been using Machine Gun Upper as an AA in HDR by not mashing the rest of the punches. If you do mash the punches you’ll be punching towards the ground/waist level while you eat a j.HK/etc.
That being said, it takes five inputs on a mash P/K move to have it come out, right? So a full MGU would be like 9+ inputs? Just trying to figure out how to apply this to SSF4 but that might be reaching right now, we don’t have a lot of solid details on these moves. As the public (hopefully) gets hands on gameplay experience at Fight Clubs we can hopefully see a clearer picture of SSF4 DeeJay’s potential.
Because they’re cool
I say make them longer and flashier so you really have to sit there and eat it if you get hit with one
Yeah your right, thanks. I guess DeeJays ultra might look like that when you think about Blankas Ultra.
phil lamar for the voice of deejay!!!
i guess you dont play the game competitively then. the longer the cinematic for the ultra, the worse it is competitively. yes there are people who care about that kind of thing but i dont think they belong to the competitive street fighter scene. i could be wrong.
But when you land an ultra and the timer runs out because it takes too damn long theres a problem.
And have all of his attacks come out after 3-5 business days? No thank you.
lol point well taken
It’s Mash P. I didn’t try to juggle it, but EX looks jugglable going by how Juri fell after it landed. EX MGP -> Up Kicks/Dread Kicks/Ultra seems possible.
Honda and Gen can mash P for more than 5 inputs if they want a longer hands with more damage. Its just no one does because after 5 inputs, they are pushed too far away to continue their offense. I’d imagine MGU behaves similar. 5 inputs to trigger the move and allow for further FADC/link combo-ability or mash it all the way out for full damage but a reset of the situation.
MGU never behaved like Chuns legs or Hondas Hands in the old SF games i doubt they will behave like that now
