I dont think they did have the charge, but you could probably do EX MGP > ultra like you do Balrog’s headbutt > Ultra.
charge db, ub+PP (for EX MGP) then db,f,b,f+3K for ultra.
I’m just hoping that you dont have to piano MGP anymore.

well the clip shows deejay trying to do MGP by doing charge but failed… MGP will be a mash input now

Yea its looking kinda mashy in the clip, especially since when he does get it, its after a few whiffed normals and its the ex version.
Im gonna be so bummed if it is a mash move
J.MK? if you want more damage then use J.HK, if you use J.MK as a cross up, and then C.mp you can’t EX Dread. you need more momentum because you’re doing a cross up. C.lp, C.lp, C.mp is needed on the combo to pull out dread kicks.
Without cross up, using J.hk, you can charge back while jumping straight, so it would be J.HK, C.MP,Ex Dread > Ultra
I think they said MGU is a mash move (a la lightning legs or electricity).
Curses… Someone beat me to it…
in the deejay demo at capcom fight club, the guy tried to use MGP by charging down to up punch, and it didnt work.
MGP is only mash now
"Max out mash on punch. His ex version. If hit you can combo into his ultra"
this is from from justin wongs site after he played him at nyc fight club
also malakyoma maybe the mgu can connect more in the corner then the dread kicks because it whiffs part of the ultra in the corner.
No need for the frowny face. That can’t be entirely a bad thing…
It’s gotta be nice to have one move you can do while walking forward. Maybe you can do dash up MGU to squash focus fishing. That’s nice, right? …Right?
-I think part of the ultra didn’t connect correctly because it hit after the opponent had already fallen to her knees.
there’s a lot of possibilities if machine gun becomes a mash move. I don’t know if the range on it is long enough, but maybe it could work similar to chuns lighting legs in that you could combo into it from crouching jabs (this might be overpowered though depending on how juggalable machine gun punch is).
It would be really sweet if you could hold down, perform ex machine gun punch, and then juggle with upkicks.
i love it!!!
Yeah, it seems that it miss in corner, at least from what can be seen in the videos, I hope this isn’t true though.
That would be sweet.
And as for Dee jay, seeing his gameplay videos and knowing how he fights from past games, I can say that I’m looking forward to use him, and the charge fact only applies more reason to play him on this game, I’m better using charge characters than anything else in SFIV.
i can see this working a little different, but the other way around
like only working for light machine gun uppercut into EX up kicks
Sure a pmash move would help stop focus fishing and give him something to do when he drops charge but im terrible with pianoing
Guess ill hit training with honda, gen, or blanka to practice it…
Time to buy yourself a pool glove .
as long as you dont have to link off it like gen it aint a big deal.’
hodnas HHS combos are pretty easy as long as oyu dont do the insanely hard ex loops.
also, deejay is most likely going to be comboing off crouching punches (since 2 of his kicks knock down and dont cancel), which makes it a looooooooot easier.
Trust me, i got a lot of practicing to do.
Ive got the execution of a retarded dolphin.
Unless its like chun’s c.lk’s -> EX SBK, i will seriously need practice.
i cant do jab > hands, jab > elec, or mk > hands
Edit: actually now that i think about it, MGU being a mash move wont make much of a difference. In HDR, whenever i canceled into MGU it was from low jabs. I cant imagine MGU behaving anything like any of the 3 moves i mention so i guess i dont have any worries. Im most certain itll be the same as chuns BnB
Since it looks like non-EX MGU looks actually usable in a B&B (ie, safe on hit from any range) it would actually be easier, since you might be able to actually just mash.
i would still prefer if the option were there. in HDR, MGP beat fireballs and id rather be able to just bring out the move then punch a fireball first.
What is everybodys opinion on his voice? Would you be dissapointed if he doesn’t get a Jamaican accent? If they do go that route i’m hoping his accent isn’t too over the top. More like Sean kingston, less like Bob marley.
I really hope MGU isn’t mash in the final cut. I still play on a pad.
