Dedicated Thread: What we want in "ONLINE" Third Strike

no one plays AE because some of the old chars (HF blanka) are ass and dont work right

I’d love a Hyper sf3. 2i Ryu would be too good though

PAYPAL MONEY MATCHES

also, the ability to record matches and upload to youtube directly through XBL would be pretty sweet

here is what i posted in capcom unity thread.
basically shits and giggles because i already know that regardless of all these request threads it will be plain 3s with a couple of filters and basic ranked or player matches with ggpo.

regarding that danisen ranking system i think that works well in the tourament evironment but online it would prove very unrewarding for new players or less practiced ones.

have you thought of how adapting that system could be done to give it a better fit for online play?

what do you mean it would be very unreqarding for new players or less practiced ones? because they won’t rank up unless they win? Why would anyone wanna be rewarded for losing? If anything, it’ll make more sense then this ranked match nonsense they already have because now the points relating to rank will actually mean something in regards to gauging skill. UH DUH. That’s why danisen works so well!

Yeah, Dani’sen Ranking System > BP Ranking System

  • I agree with pretty much the majority of what’s been suggested in here. Perfect arcade port, best possible netcode, improved training mode, 2I/NG & start button colors being readily available from the get go, remastered sound, and online danisen styled rank system. *

Yes please no unlocking colors or unlocking of any kind. I want to buy the game, start it, and have everything in the arcade version immediately unlocked for versus play.

Yeah I’m with this, having to unlock anything is a unneeded hassle for a fighting game.

Some people like unlocking shit in their game. But, for this game ill take the mvc2 approach since its old as fuck.

Really? can’t see any appeal in having to grind arcade mode or something in order to be able to play the real game.

Danisen ranking mode would be awesome. The Danisen ranbats you see on niconico aren’t even set in a tournament format.

Rules:
* New players begin at 1st Dan
* Players fight other players within 1 rank of themselves
* One win = +1 point, One loss = -1 point, +3 moves the player up 1 rank, -3 moves the player down 1 rank
* Rankings go from 1st to 10th Dan, with special rankings after 10th Dan
* After 10th Dan, players only fight other players of the same rank, and must instead get +5 points to move up a rank

If handled properly, it would be pretty cool if this happened. It’s almost exactly the same as VF’s ranking system, so use that for reference.

Shouldn’t this thread be stickied already for great justice and visibility?

How about a meter that fills up based on a %age of damage you take? Can fill up based on the damage you would have taken from parried attacks too, and when the meter is at least half full you can throw out a very strong special attack.

Call them “mega arts” to contrast with “super arts”

This isn’t Street Fighter IV: 3rd Strike.

Just one thing I’d like to add in on to this whole Dansen ranking system. The best part about it is that win or lose you don’t stop fighting. If you win, you keep on taking on challengers until someone can defeat your or you move out of the grade and if you lose you’re quickly called for your next fight. Therefore, to truly recreate that experience means that you would need it to be in a lobby system. Players can keep playing until they either rank out of that pool or call it a day and save their rank and +/- points with the system. There would be minimal waiting, you move from match to match. That is why Dansen is fun, the fight never ends and you’re forced to stick to your character regardless of the matchup.

…seriously?

well for somebody (not me) that has never played 3s ever and has bought the online version because they were curious after getting sf4,
they could play all day and still be exactly where they were at the start of the day even though they could have won hundreds of matches.
i think a new player would grow tired of that feeling of not advancing quite quickly.

since this is online and quite possibly not a very popular game what happens when there are no players within 1 point of you?

Shodan through go (5) dan fight in the same pool iirc. You’d have a pretty big pool, trust me.
