If you don’t like doing it, well then… don’t do it. Play Yang without Rekka’s if you hate it so much.
Deal with it or pick another character that doesn’t have Rekka’s. It’s that simple.

Oh, well since you hate the exceedingly difficult qcf X 3 we better call on Capcom to make that easier for you, even though all of us have been able to do that since day 1, like you know, a DECADE ago…
Does that sound retarded to you? Maybe even a little?
If you cannot do qcf x 3 consistently I highly recommend you look to another game, that is all.
Yeah, the resulting firestorm of suggesting any change whatsoever to 3S is why I stopped bothering to say anything about it. First day OE comes out I’ll buy it along with a lovely new stick, no matter if there’s changes made to it or not, but it’s still very annoying to see responses like “Well if you do this the entire package becomes shit” or “No skillz LOL”. I can only hope that when someone posts on the 3S forums six months from now honestly asking for advice on a character, people won’t act so insular and elitist.
I never understood this argument of execution for the sake of execution thing.
yeah you can, because slippery slope is a logical fallacy. Let’s turn it around: you say execution barriers should exist for the sake of existing. Why change QCF motions into 1080 motions? It’ll make the moves harder to execute, which is apparently good. For some reason.
That’s nonsensical circular logic, you realise that?
Execution is usually linked to the relative difficulty of the move. The classic example is the 720 Grab being reasonably difficult to perform when compared to its damage output. When it comes to Rekkas, the amount of people that can’t consistently do a Rekka are so few and far between it really doesn’t warrant changing it to satisfy them. Not to mention that the damage output of a Rekka is pretty fair when compared to its input.
…i can’t do yang’s EX slash lol
the argument for execution is pretty simple really. its about mental control. if you fluster someone their execution will waver, if they are mentally strong it won’t.
execution is a mindgame. are you scared of their execution? do you trust yours? (aka yourself in general)
fighting games are like playing chess by playing an instrument when there is high execution. it makes the mental game a larger component.
everyone knows that mvc2 match with justin coming back on yipes. if yipes hadn’t gotten flustered justin was dead. but he dropped super b/c of nerves and subsequently lost.
execution is not just for the sake of execution it proves who is the stronger player mentally.
I hate having to hold down to do a low normal. Can’t we just make the top 3 buttons do high attacks and the bottom buttons do low attacks? I mean come on capcom!!! It would make more sense than having to move the joystick around when I want my character to do stuff!
arcade perfect port; best netcode available (which apparently is GGPO); scoring system (like SFIV’s BPs i guess); gill should not be playable online
i’d also like an online tournament mode, but only with awesome netcode permitting bc w/ sfiv’s netcode, i never got lucky enough to have smooth connections with all the players in the tourney which pretty much made the mode useless for me
This shortcut business is bullshit. Tough execution is part of the fun, and makes the game more skill-rewarding. I tend to refrain from patronizing the new-school SFIV community when it comes to stuff like this - but I’m getting the impression they just want skill readily served on a plate when they get the game…
One thing questions me. Will Seth Killian actually take note on what is being posted in his thread? It’s not like there has been an official fan request thread. Someone needs to sticky this.
This thread should be stickied, then the other two threads merged and renamed “Third Strike Online Edition discussion thread.” If Capcom is going to take at least a cursory look at what’s being said here we should make that as easy as possible.
If you think the ideas posted here are bad, check out the hilarity on Unity.
I don’t even wanna know how bad the shit on their possibly could be.
I sure would like to hear the “best of the worst” of that list.
lol, capcom don’t come round reading here.
after about a while you will need a mod to make a list of things to email to capcom, like how they did after sf4 was out.
anyway, forgot what i wanted to post with how derailed this thread has got:
have colours unlockable by playing like the colours in ssf4
have the NG and 2I stages as bonus unlockables for completing arcade single player modes.
gill unlockable for beating arcade with everybody on hardest (gill is rebalanced to be unbroken)
Gill
has two super arts to choose from meteor and seraphim (both balance tweaked) a two stock meter for both and ressurection is a max stock/bar super art.
shin akuma as a hidden cpu controlled only uber boss.
fully featured training mode
basic challenge mode to help people learn basic combos and special moves for each character
the online mode to feature some kind of point or ranking system to give it merit.
player 1vs1 matches
As for online modes, i like my Danisan mode suggestion
wtf is danisan?
Fuck that, just give us a “win” button and have the player who mashes it the fastest get the round!
*Seriously, no changes Capcom.
Finally someone that knows what they’re talking about. You dunno how many hours I would spend trying to out-bench the olympic weight lifter on those flash ad games. One time I actually milked the cow quicker than the farmer and was selected to win a free notebook! AWESOME
i’d be careful with those joke/sarcastic suggestions.
Capcom might put that shit in. O_O
yyyeeeaaaaaasssssss
