He all but promised to resurrect the auto industry and people bought it. And the fact that Romney is from around here (and that he humped that fact endlessly) didn’t hurt. After all, being from a certain place means he’s more qualified to govern, right?
McCain, for all his flaws, told it straight: the auto industry isn’t coming back, so get used to it. Strangely enough, people would rather be told what they want to hear.

Michigan wanted to move the primary to an earlier date, which is a gamble because it violates several rules set by the DNC (which shouldn’t fucking matter, incidentally), but it does gain Michigan a more influential foothold in the race due to the voters having an earlier say. Power over determining candidates is invariably frontloaded in the primaries, even though–get this–the DNC is not counting Michigan’s votes because of the rule violation.
Several candidates withdrew from the ballot for this reason. I suppose the ones that stayed are hoping the win will have media significance, if not more practical significance.
Yeah. Its all pointless bureaucratic nonsense imo. I just hope they stop thinking putting profile on Facebook, Myspace and Youtube will make them look cooler…

Mccain will have troubles cause in the end he’s republican and that looks scary to america right now. I don’t want to get into a long drawn out essay, but we should save alot of this for after we see who gets most of the nominaitons… at least wait till Super Duper stupid dems Tuesday before starting the republican. democrat thing.

Obama - young some what inexperienced, smart, hopeful, has many plans I agree with, generally seems like a man of the people and not so much a politician
Clinton - “experienced” a carpetbagger, except for a few things on gun control and taxes, she may as well be republican, she is mccain for the demi’s or in other words, leans pretty middle after totaling up the points. Which is why I can’t get behind her, she’s a politicans politician and unless your a rich interest group you won’t ever have her ear IMO.
Reps - Huge race and I haven’t followed it super closely to get everything… but lots of potential candidates still all comes down to what happens on feb 5.

S - mccain, romney - both pulling some heavy weight both have hella problems, less crazy then competitors
A - Huckabee - very right wing, strong family values. This holds him in with lots of strong conservative areas, but he’s mormon and beyond that, he’s a bit nuts, if anyone else saw the interview with the evolution question, i mean seriously wow
B- Guilliani - like mccain can pull votes from the middle or the right but with actually more righty power imo and less middle power. He’s got some problems and alot of people say he is all about helping the businesses out not the people. He does well in debates from what I’ve seen and he tends to not be such a muckraker.
C - everyone else cause your all fucked.
