Well when I first started reading One Piece, I hated Luffy, but kept on reading it cuz of Zoro.
The thing you have to consider is this- Light is a VERY VERY VERY intellegent person, whose thoughts and ideas might not be supported by other ppl, in addition in the first chapter/episode he mentions how rotten the world is, but was he ever willing to do anything to change it? Possibly not, but then came The Death Note and with it the ability to change the world.
You should read the series up until the end, cuz I belive you will like it finishes 
i just finished reading the manga and im on like ep 6… anyone care to discuss the ending? (with the spoiler warnings of course)

overall i liked it, ending is kinda dissapointing… it requires some thought but i felt the way light just started going crazy and giving up at the end as well as ryuuku turning on him sucked… as well as the concepts of afterlife not being satisfying, didnt really seem like any real resolution with light occured as well. (like him doing something in the afterlife) i thought they could have made it better with more thought…

^Actually Ryuk was NEVER on anyone’s side, you read and saw it in the anime and manga, the reason why he didn’t help him could be because he had his fun and/or got bored with Light. Also don’t forget that he said that when the time comes, Ryuk will be the one to write Light’s name in his Death Note
episode 11 is and out and alreaday subbed. Such a great anime and im glad its following the manga so closely.
Whats the deal with episode 12? Why hasn’t it been released yet?

I love death note, and when i started reading the manga i noticed that the anime is doing a excellent job. They are just flying through manga chapters.
My question is who is smarter Light yagami or Nara Shikamaru??..lol.
So Death Note got licensed by Viz. But there is some rumours that Animanda fansubs will still be subbing it. I’m not sure how long they take to sub an episode though.

They stopped @ episode 12 for a while now…what site is hosting the subbed ones? i know lime-evil just stopped subbing…
This is also what’s been going on, since the Death Note anime has been licensed in the US by Viz Media.

Live Evil and Toriyama World have dropped subbing Death Note, so it’s just Animanda that’s doing it now.

I finished up the manga–enjoyed it to the very end. Suspense lvl was mad high…lol.

The story has really gone downhill since L’s death, the new L or “near” is just a wannabe, L is what kept the story interesting up until his death, now that he is gone it doesn’t feel like it’s being written the same way

Yeah. 13 was a really surprising episode. I didn’t expect half of that to happen. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
That was a bad quality sub from Kubusubs or something. The animanda one is up now.
