I searched for a death note thread and could not find one. If there is one Mods can move. and lock this thread.

I know it gets talked about a lil in the Anime thread but i figured it needed it’s own thread.

Anime is up to 6 episodes so far and I must say its one of the smartest animes ive seen in a long time.

I had a few questions about the episode and the manga.

How long is the manga? and is it over?

I would like to discuss the anime episode up to this point. episode 6? does anybody else think that Light is making a mistake and or made a big mistake talking to Ray’s Wife??

You haven’t seen Monster then have you. As good as Death Note is, Monster is a much better mystery/suspense.

Manga is 12 volumes long plus a 13th info volume with extras n such. Yes it is over.

As for the girl, you’ll see =P

i heard the movie was so so but the show is fucking epic
the art and music make if feel like each episode is an anime movie as opposed to a show

Every episode is better than the last one. something about a battle of wits with every word being like a chess game between 2 grandmasters.

I like the toriyama’s world subs–but lime-evil puts them out quicker.

I guess imma have to find the manga.

I need more animes like this. I thought Ergo Proxy was gonna do the trick but its gettin a lil stagnant.

i know what you mean, he was off the hook and decided to do it anyway. big mistake imo… if he left the guy alone, no one would’ve continued to expect him… not very smart for genius

I finished Volume 7 a few weeks ago, I’m going to pic up volume 8 next week. I’m kind of surprised that it finished at 109 chapters; usually popular Shonen titles end up going forever.
I really enjoy it, it’s one of the more mature, philisophical mangas I’ve read. I can’t imagine watching this as an anime though…

Same here.

Once you read the manga and know everything thats gonna happen, the anime gets kicked down a notch. Still great though! Can’t wait for the Subbed movie.

I doubt many people expected it to do as well as it did. Also due to the subject matter and its ‘hero,’ I don’t think Shonen Jump would want it in the mag for too long.

Great series though.

I just completed it, started reading about 4PM yesterday.

It’s good till halfway point till that “something” with L happens. Then after that it just goes downhill from there imo.

The manga was epic until volume 7, hopefully the show ends it there…

with all the hype going on about this anime, I checked it out on Youtube and I gotta say, it’s pretty impressive

Death Note is the best anime I’ve ever seen. It’s the only anime when the episode ends and I can’t wait for the next one. It leaves me on the edge of my seat.

As far as what’s happening with Light and Ray’s wife at the end of the 6th episode;I don’t think Light has made a mistake. If anything she made a mistake trusting Light and telling him her name. That’s ending her life right there. I guess I’ll have to wait and see what happens. :bgrin:

With death note its just i love the style and pacing of it. Sometime this week Imma get into the manga.
