do resets work often? or do opponents are usually able to block the right way?
just mix shit up…they wont get blocked too often unless your predictable…u’ll prolly land ya reset aroun 80% tha time if your sneaky…make ya own shit up…dont only go for one reset…go for a dash under reset, then if it works u can do a same side reset or a throw reset…magnus is too tricky…
Yeah, varying the resets you use make them more effective. I’ve got a question, though: Do most of you use resets all the way, or rely on tempest combos to beat opponents?
The reason I ask this is that the machine we play in the arcade has the damage setting to the lowest level, so even if I land maybe 3 to 4 consecutive resets, the other player’s lifebar is still about half. And when I’m against Cable/AAA I have a hard time hitting him, so sometimes I’m compelled to do an unmashable Tempest instead to inflict a lot of damage at once. Though after that, Cable just rolls on the ground and he’s too far away again.
during a ac, when do you usually dash in the different side? say like
launch, hk, lk, lk, dash df, then dash to the other side?
well in your situation if 3 restes dont kill u should do this…
launch rh ad df lk lk then reset them into this combo…c.hp rh ad df lk lk land j.lk+psy j.lk air dash down xx tempest tehn u can otg after cuz it unrollable and try reset em again…so u get best of both worlds…
It just depends on your style if you’re confident with your resets then go for them because that is the fastest way to kill somebody. But if you want to make your hits count for sure go for an unmashable. If your opponent has taken some damage already an unmashable into hailstorm will kill them. Now you’ve got storm on point with a healthy magneto recharging in the back. Run away a little bit and next time you hit them you can LSXXbutterflyXXtempest or shockwave. You should get them to change the damage setting at your arcade also. BTW dashing straight down when you do the unmashable greatly increases the chance for you to juggle them after the tempest is over.
Well… how I play is that I reset till they have about 1/4th or so of their life left… then unmashable. Usually kills them off, if not, I DHC and finish them off anyway. Only time I use supers is if it’ll kill someone, or if it’ll hurt someone enough that a DHC will kill them.
Oh and random hypergravXXtempests work well, no matter what anyone says.
Remy Martin & De4dEye: Thanks for the input and I guess I agree with you. Besides, Magneto as a reset machine is a hell of a lot cooler than someone I know who knows nothing but SJ (lp, lk, mp, mk, hypergrav XX tempest). But I never win against him because I really can’t close in on people because of their assists :lame:

that won’t work, but cr.lk+sent(g) cr.hp(launch) sj.fp air dash down forward then hk grab, land then dash over cr.hk which air juggles them is because the drones hit the opponent first. this is also unrollable.
EDIT- ya that will work. after the throw dash over and launch them.
ive read this whole thread and im still a little unclear about the c.hk unblockable.
i think the last frame of the c.hk is unblockable right? so on sent, is goes,
sj lk,lk ad df, lk,lk and as soon as possible, land in front of sent and press c.hk? could someone clarigy please, thanks

I saw this guy playing and he did c.lk c.hp sj. hp sj.hp otg.hk and from then on he did a couple of jabs and lk’s with hp’s and hk’s for like 3 reps. I know he canceled some standing hp’s and standing hk’s into super jumps and did a whole bunch of crap that was super flashy :eek: but I have no clue how to do it :bluu:
how the hell did he manage to land two hps straight? unless there was a dash df…

I’m guessing it was in the corner, and went:
Launch, fp, ad.df fp, OTG rh, cr.lp, jump lk, lk fp, rh. And no, he didn’t superjump during the combo, as flying screen was activated.
As for the unblockable, the LAST frame is unblockable. When they’re waking up or falling on it, it takes on properties which makes it unblockable.

I’m really liking MSS-A now. Pretty neat. I would have thought the loss of Cable would be sucky… but it’s not so bad. And you have the Strom -> Sent DHC to boot.

no questions, just an opinion, drones are better
I hate the drone assist… mad slow… controls space and stuff… but it’s just blah. RP assist… you can do more stuff with it… harder for your opponent to jump in the way and block sent’s attack, but if it were drones, it’d be easier.
As for Storm… yeah she benefits more from the drones… but the RP can assist punish or set up retalitory hail’s just as well. And Mag… well… it’s Mag. RP is great for him.
Hey Dead4eye, I can finally slide consistently with HK but I claw the lk, how do you slide the lk ?
I start using cable again, I feel dirty but all those other scrub cables STFU now =)
I have a question, which tri-Jump method is the best? I’ve seen people use the ad/lk,lk, and some use ad/hk, and I’ve even tried using ad/lk,lp, but I dont know what’s the pro’s\con’s are. Could someone plz compare/contrast?
