Yeah that is true from what I understand he was in the middle of some special arc with black canary but it didnt have a chance to finish. I really wanted to see what he was going to do with this book.
Is this the same crappy arc with red tornado becoming “human”
The Lighting Saga was the one when the Legion of Superheroes was trying to keep the JLA & JSA away from them doing something(don’t know what it was I’ll have to re-read it) & it turned out to be them bringing back Wally & Iris West back along with the twins
Yeah last time I saw Didio in that store a few years ago I gave him crap about wanting to kill Nightwing two Crisis’ ago. He said “Oh no not the Nightwing fans!”
Because it’s super hero comics. Everyone says they want change and then when they get it a bunch of people complain they want things to return to the way they were. It’s what stops the medium from growing but at the same time, when changes do stick well that aspect is really interesting. Until you have editors who go and change things back to however they were for no reason at all of course…
Nightwing becoming Batman is HEAVILY to appease Didio, Levitz and others who do not like Nightwing’s persona. It’s up there with JQ getting rid of Spider-Man’s marriage. If the person who wears the big hat wants to do something, you can bet they are going to do it sooner or later.
I’m more of a fan of the people behind the costumes then the actual costumes, so Dick Grayson becoming Batman until Bruce Wayne comes back doesn’t bug me. Even if this is a plot to kill DG off like Batman 666 showed, but whatever death in comics just means ‘a vacation.’ You know like the one Bruce is on now. You just have to step back and look at the big picture sometimes.
So I’ve re-read Batman #666
and its realy cool how far Morrison planned ahead
Pyg is there with all of his “dolls” and some more new villians are being mentioned
I’m realy looking forward to see how stuff will turn out cuz i remember that Grant said that everything that happened in #666 will happen in the future (and there’s a pic there of batman dead)
So after 14 years or so of reading comics I picked up my first issue of Batman (I know) but I just a quick question. In the comics how did they explain Bruce’s dissappearance/death to the citizens of Gotham?
Hush AKA Thomas Elliot had plastic surgery performed on himself so he looks exactly like Bruce Wayne. He was active after Batman vanished and pretended to be Bruce Wayne. So most people think that Bruce is alive and haven’t connected him to Batman’s death.
Catwoman caught up to Hush and now he’s being held captive in a safe house until they - Dick, Tim, Alfred - figure out what to do with him.
They haven’t dealt with Bruce’s ‘funeral’ yet, such a thing has to be spaced out from Batman’s death so people don’t figure out he was Batman. IIRC they are planning to do a funeral for Bruce. Who knows, Hush might escape before then to cause trouble.
Some decent books this week. Read Batman, Red Robin, GLC, and Flash Rebirth #3… All were pretty good. Liked GLC and Flash Rebirth a lot… Best line from F:R
Flash
[details=Spoiler]
“I’ve raced you plenty times before, Barry. I even beat you some of those times”
“Those races were for charity, Clark” BOOM[/details]
I liked it too, especially the exchange between Tim and Damian. Can’t believe I missed out on Batman all these years. I picked up Batman 687, Batman and Robin 1 and the Red Robin. All those were a blast to read. Cant wait for Streets of Gotham next week.
