just picked up and read Final Crisis #1 , Trinity #1 and Batman 677
Batman, Trinity and Final Crisis
[details=Spoiler]Batman 677
i must say i agree with the Thomas Wayne theory after reading darksoul173 post there a while ago. its interesting to “kill” off Batman in that way, take away everything he stands for and give him no reason to be the dark knight (i never saw that coming). but Libra in Final crisis #1 mentions something about taking away their reasons to be. so that made me think he might be involved with the Dark Hand (i ment Black Glove) somehow. anyways it could be a positive change for the Batman series to reinvent itself.
Trinity #1
the art itself is enough to buy this one. Mark Bagley is one of my all time favorite comic pencilers. i think he was responsilbe for bringing spiderman to great hights in the 90’s and he did an “amazing” run on amazing spiderman both before and after the clone saga. i havent seen him do anything since so seeing him back was just fracking unbelivable. The storyline in Trinity 1 is …well besides the introduction bit kind of flat and uneventfull , but its like all first issues building up to what could be a great story-arc i definetively wanna se more of trinity.
Final Crisis #1
Libra looks like a promising charachter at least for final crisis , but the killing of a certain martian was a bit uneccesary in my oppinion …nobody really cares and it was just to prove the fact that he can make his fellow super-villain’s dreams come true. Im not sure i like the monitors as charachters after reading countdown , i hope their involvment in final crisis will be minimal. the art in this issue is really good tho and overall it looks and feels way better than countdown , maybe it could be as good as the first crisis.

Dark Hand lol its the Black Glove and right now his identity is what interest me the most in DC (Morisson said it will be revealed in the last issue of RIP)
SRK has it set up so that spoiler tags only work with a descriptor. In other words, you can’t just put “spoiler” in brackets. It has to be “spoiler=(whatever).”
final crisis
martian manhunters death should have been a 2 page splash, lame

Can someone give me the definite Wally West Flash run tpb guide? I’m interested in Geoff Johns run, I assume his began with “Iron Heights”? But yeah just all Wally, been putting this off long enough.
The first Johns Flash TPB is Wonderland. Then it’s Blood Will Run, Rogues, Crossfire, Blitz, Ignition, and the rest of it just goes downhill. Like, fast. The TPB after Ignition has a few good issues but by that time, all that (Identity) Crisis crossover junk was rolling into the title and it just wasn’t as good. The Secret of Barry Allen storyarc was very lackluster, and by the time Rogue War came out I completely stopped caring - that’s how quick Johns’ run diminished in my sight. (Iron Heights was a one-shot, and it’s collected in the recent printing of Blood Will Run.)
You should also check out The Return of Barry Allen by Mark Waid. That’s one of the definitive Wally West storyarcs. The art’s a little bit too '90s (too many mullets and big hair) but overall it stands the test of time and is a clutch read.
Start where Johns and Kollins start, then stop after Blitz.
It got dumb after Blitz.
Rogue war was okay, and the great “You’re only touching me because I’m letting you touch me” moment with batman happened.
Sounds good, any word on Wally returning? Or has he and I just didn’t know, I heard Bart had a…crappy end as the Flash, so I was curious who is wearing the tights these days.
Bart died. Wally is back.
Johns is too busy making Green Lanturn matter again, so Flash is lame right now.
Yeah Johns puts is focus right now on GL with all the Blackest Night stuff coming next year (this one should be great cause of SCW).
He also got his hands busy with the all big Superman story coming up (not the Brainiac one the one after that). He said thats he will do to superman in 2008 what he did to GL in 2007.
yes flash is lame for another month at least. then johns does the fc flash tie in. then it will be great once again.

Damnit, I thought Final Crisis was amazing. Also, it helps if you pretend Countdown and Death of the New Gods don’t exist, as that’s what Morrison essentially said in his latest interview. On a final note, Metron giving Anthro fire might just be the best splash in the history of comics.
Hasn’t his run started? Haven’t heard anything amazing about it if it is him, but I bet he has some Superman epic planned. Been a while since I read a Supes comic, might check this stuff out.
His run started got the all Bizarro world and the LOSH arcs(i liked the LOSH arc) but he said there’s something big coming up something in the scale of SCW.
Next Action comics got the all Brainiac arc and after that its the talkabout story
Its going to cross with the Superman books, hopefully it wont be needed to start reading the Superman books (i read Action comics beacuse its johns)
Im curious what is opinion for wonder woman right now. Ive been meaning to pick it up but im a bit uncertain. I currently decided to get TPB of her named “Love and Murder” from the local library to get an idea.
Question…in Action Comics is Johns starting from scratch as far as the characters and history go…what with the General Zod, Toy Man and now the Brainiac story?
I could of sworn Joe Kelly used Zod in a storyline. And I thought Toyman was dead (going by Superman/Batman) and his son took the mantle? And Brainiac…why retell his first apprearance?
Because Post-Crisis’ Braniac history absolutely blows.
The pre-crisis Braniac was one of the best superman villains with the backstory of the Bottle City of Kandor (ome of the coolest superman mythos) and a space pirate
Post-crisis Braniac is just the drunkard Milton fine being possesed by Vril Dox and turning into an interplanetary threat… lame story
Plus the Post-crisis Bottle city of Kandor isn’t even of Krypton origin
Isn’t it wonderful? The whole point of reinventing the Superman books after the Crisis was to streamline things and make them more logical. So what do they do? Fuck everything up.
It seems like for everything DC does right with Superman, they do dozens of things wrong.
