Just read Teen Titans. I’m really enjoying this arc and I think McKeever is doing a good job so far. However, so far the quality of BOP has went down a bit(due to Simone leaving. I’m still pissed about that.)
JL has been pretty good writing wise, but the new artist has problems drawing faces well lol.
I agree, Teen Titans was nice this week. I like the ending (anybody think Persona 3 when they saw the last panel?).
Justice League was good, too. I actually liked the art, it has a cartoony feel without being too cartoony.
Countdown… still eh. At least its picking up a bit, they’re leading into Arena.
mild spoilers
Spoiler
It was cool to show the Crime Society, but the whole premise of an earth where bad always prevails over good seemed really corny (I know its based on an old idea, but still). One line I did like was, “You’re just a second-rate Batman.” “No… you are”
Man, who drew that JLofA (lol at the “of”) this week? Joe Benitez? That was terrible. DC should get better artists drawing their high profile series. Ed Benes is a poor man’s Jim Lee. Joe Benitez is a homeless man’s Ed Benes.
I didn’t enjoy how the artist drew Superman. Really wack. And I didn’t enjoy the Green Lantern action sequences. All he used were fists, bubbles and energy beams. He should get some tips from Ethan Van Sciver on how to draw Green Lantern.
The story seems a little more action oriented then Meltzer’s take, but I guess it’s expected since the guy wrote all those Justice League/Justice League Unlimited episodes.
It was still enjoyable though. I’m gonna pick up the rest of the arc.
Eh, it’s just my personal taste. I don’t like that kind of art style usually, unless it’s intentionally ironic. Otherwise, that ‘90s Image-ish style is kids’ stuff, really. I mean just compare the current issue, or even any of Benes’ issues, to Gene Ha’s issue - world of difference. If they had Gene Ha or someone of his caliber drawing JLofA, it’d look a lot better.
I saw a copy of All Star Superman #1 with the limited Neal Adams cover today. I’m not very sentimental, but I almost shelled out the big bucks for it. It looks great.
The cover, I mean. I already know what’s in the comic itself, which is also great.
The fridge thing is that we had a pool going on before which week 52 would ship late. The winner would get Zephyranthes’ X-Force #1 issue(a prize no one really wanted anyway lol). It didn’t ship late, no one won the issue so Zephyranthes said if that happened he would put X-Force #1 on his fridge and he has not done that yet. That’s the gist of it. Well that’s what me, Zephy, and Pained Auron in the Marvel thread are talking about lately, I think Are_you_okay?! just wants to put a comic on his fridge.
Fret not, I’ll take a picture of Liefeld’s Captain America #1 on my fridge and from that point on you should know what we are talking about without having to follow the complicated continuity of the SRK comic book threads.
As promised, here’s the picture of Loeb and Liefeld’s Captain America #1 on my fridge for all of the people who competed in the 52 Pool. Hopefully next time we have a pool things will run a little smoother and who knows maybe we’ll have an actual winner. So let’s put all this behind us and move on to a brand new SRK Comic Book Continuity, oh yeah it’s a BRAND NEW DAY! No wait, that’s Marvel… It’s ONE YEAR LATER! Captain America on the fridge = Superboy Prime knocking out reality!!!
Don’t look at the image if you have a weak stomach, this is your last warning. Trying to figure out why Cap’s legs are so long will just mess you up.
Oh the shame…
Don’t say I don’t love you guys… I’ve lost 5 pounds already, the urge to stay away from my fridge is hella strong for some reason… :wasted:
