DC Comics Thread

Yeap, just one of those classic surprise shockers comics likes to tease you with. I’m pretty sure Morrison’s bat plans up to and beyond 2012 didn’t include a powered up Bruce. It’s kinda like when you buy a comic and the hero is being killed on the front, but when you open it up you notice exactly none of that is happening, except this is on the final page. The White Lantern Batman art is nice though.

Read BD and stuff this weekend, for once the Hawkman/Hawkgirl story didn’t bug me, though them being tricked once more seems a little hackneyed, you’d think they would learn from being continually duped into shit.

ROBW #6
wow i mean it’s well known that Morrison is great with endings but this mind-fuck (in the good sense) and BNR#16 are just in their own level
i realy liked the way he used YEAR ONE

pretty much every plot thread in the past 4 years is closed

I bought ROBW#6 & Batman & Robin #16 today & I LOVE IT!!! Can’t wait for the Dark Knight series, from my understanding it’s going to be good. Also anyone read the Superman:Earth One? If so,how was it?

Cosign for ROBW #6 man great series!

I found out the next 2 DC Universe animated movies that will be done next.According to Lauren Montgomery,it will be Green Lantern:Emerald Knights & Batman:Year One. I would love to see another Wonder Woman anmated movie again.

Yeah All-Star Superman should come out before those two, probably early 2011. They really need to make a movie about Flash. The Wonder Woman movie was one of my favorites so wouldn’t mind seeing another. I dug the adult humor dialog they had going in that one.

How can they decide on such a great choice for Batman and such a terrible choice for Green Lantern?

Those guys can make bad comic book stories look good better than they can make good comic book stories look great so far. Doomsday, Jeph Loeb stories, The Hood, all horrible comics they have made look better. In comparison a great comic, New Frontier is still better than it’s animated counterpart.

I’m really hoping All-Star Supes delivers. It’s just too bad that they have to boil 12 issues down to 80 minutes.

What should be my next TPB?

That may be true, I really can’t say as the only one I’ve seen and also read the related subject matter to is GL: First Flight. And even then it was a mash-up of elements from other stories as well.

It’s not that Emerald Knights was necessarily a bad story. It was actually pretty decent, although it was a bit confusing having Hal physically fight himself as Parallax. In fact, I think it was one of the highest selling stories of GL Vol. 3, simply because of the inclusion of Hal. I think it’s a poor choice because the story is more centered around Kyle. With the movie right around the corner and GL selling as well as it is, you’d think DC would try and utilize a more streamlined, Hal-centric story without a lot of baggage. Plus, the less said about Parallax the better.

I don’t care how good they can make crap stories. I’m a hater. Doomsday? Public Enemies? Loeb/Turner’s Supergirl arc? The animators lost before they began. I didn’t even bother watching them. That’s how deep my hate runs. Not even Bruce Timm can make me tolerate stupid Batman/Superman stories.

Responding to Sano’s post

Yeah All Star Superman is next.I’m with you on Wonder Woman movie,it had so much adult humor lines in there,it’s not even funny

Well I think,it’s all about what DC wants to be shown.I agree with Sano that they should do a Flash animated & have Micheal Rosenbaum back doing the voice.I was disappointed with Green Lantern animated feature, even though Geoff Johns wrote the plot, you could tell that he didn’t feel like it.

I need to be ashamed of myself because I have yet to see New Frontier.

Did you guys hear about Lynda Carter being angry at Megan Fox about her Wonder Woman comment? Fox said WW is “a lame superhero who flys around in an invisible jet & arms herslef with a lasso that makes you tell the truth.I just don’t get it.” Thoughts on this?

Lol it’s funny because my best friend texted me the same exact thing today, about not seeing New Frontier. Guy is like a big Xena fan so I’m like what the hell is wrong with you Lucy Lawless is voicing Wonder Woman! It’s worth seeing just for that.

The comic is still better though. 80 minute time limit really hurt it. To be fair since then they have learned how to manage the time limit a lot better. Still I wish the WB just lifted it but I hear there a complex legal reasons behind it. Blarg.

Isn’t Megan Fox the chick who thinks Witchblade is cool? Or was it Fathom? Either way, I’m not surprised she doesn’t like Wonder Woman. I’d like to see her try to read Promethea. That would probably break her mind.

Green Eggs and Ham would break her mind quite honestly.

No one gives a shit what a future D-list celebrity only known for her (Apparently) good looks thinks about a comic character with a storied career that’s lasted a hell of a lot longer than her. REAL TALK.

No offense mate, but…why should we even give a fuck? This is the kind of stuff you’d find more fun asking in 4chan
