DC Comics Thread

Found these 2 screenshots of upcoming Brave and the Bold eps. and they are mad hype!

Haha. That’s the most hateful thing I’ve ever seen you post. You are learning, young one. You are learning. We’ll make a man out of you yet.

Curse my lunch break, I was going to post something similar lol.

Here, videos and additional screenshots of the upcoming episodes. One has Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters (WHOOT!) The other is the Damien and Dick Grayson Batman stuff (Also whoot worthy, but I love Uncle Sam): VIDEO: Plastic Man & Damian Are “The Brave and the Bold” - Comic Book Resources

Edit to Zephy: Lol, I try. Bad week and Megan Fox is trash, she deserved the hate.

Anyone’s reading Knight and Squire? another good and fun series from Paul Cornell (Action Comics)

Well I just thought I asked if you guys heard or read about it.I found it kind of funny myself

My lil bro got me to watch an episode of Batman Brave and the Bold. I neglected to watch it in the past because it looked so outdated, kiddy, and cheesy. I was wrong about the outdated part only. It was actually watchable and kind of funny. Is Uncle Sam really a DC comic book character? It just tore me up how an old propaganda character back from the WWII days and before was punching out aliens and creating force fields.
He was even the leader of a super hero group and his powers feed off of patriotism and freedom? That’s all kind of cheesy and funny at the same time. I ROFL when Plastic and the gang

JMS leaves Superman & Wonder Woman to focus on the Earth One franchise

JMS Exits Superman, Wonder Woman - Comics News at IGN

Phil Hester will be writing Wonder Woman. His Green Arrow run was pretty good along with the Darkness run he had @ Top Cow so let’s see if he could work his magic with it.

I don’t know who this Chris Robinson guy is.He’s the new writer for Superman.Maybe Sano can enlighten m e about him

Crazy. I’m already not reading Earth One so I’ll probably drop Superman and Wonder Woman when he leaves. I’ve been enjoying both. Ah well back to not reading Superman and Wonder Woman and just focusing on Batman books.

That’s how it always is. As soon as I get interested in Superman and Wonder Woman something happens that gets me uninterested in them. It’s usually that I get bored with the story though.

Last time I liked Wonder Woman was when Heinberg was writing it, and then because of his TV commitments (dude stop working on TV shows I don’t watch please lol) he did like three issues, left us hanging and his 12 issue story got wrapped it in one annual. I liked what I read of Simone’s run, but for some reason I didn’t feel the need to keep reading it after the first few issues.

Maybe JMS will get good replacements and they are working on his scripts but I just don’t think it will be the same without his dialog. I will try like one issue of non JMS for both before doing anything at the very least. I skipped over that last Superman issue that he didn’t write, even though the solicit claimed that he did. If they didn’t put the writer’s name on the cover I would’ve been duped.

I’m mainly the Marvel guy around here with the exception of Batman related stuff so really the wrong person to ask. He writes Fables related stuff so maybe Zephyranthes is familiar with his work.

Desaad Godfrey and Goodness were all in Smallville
still im not getting the all Darkseid is a freaking god from space who can make the sky bleed and the world collapse on itself threat
They need to let Morrison write some episodes nobody deals Apokolips better than him

The ending was a BIG SURPRISE! :wow:

Smallville… Wait do I have to do spoilers for a freaking TV show in a comic book forum that I myself mod? Oh well better safe than sorry…

Spoiler

So Mercy and Lex Luthor may be brother and sister in Smallville reality? I DID NOT see that coming!

This season has been top tier. Stuff is actually happening on the show.

And Terri Hatcher who played Lois on Lois and Clark turning out to be the Lois’ mother was awesome! :clapdos:

I really hope Michael Rosenbaum shows up at least at the very end of this season. They have to bring OG Lex back before they end things IMHO.

That has got to be the most WTF cameo I’ve ever seen in a Batman cartoon

looks…

GREAT

They just had to show the boxing glove lol

Wait is that Leonard from The Big Bang Theory?

EDIT: To all Cassandra Cain fans, she appears in Red Robin #17 :woot:

Didn’t know he was still trashing those comics, I like JMS but he let me down with Superman, fucking terrible run IMO.

BaTB Friday was full of that lulz, Uncle Sam fucking knocking people out to stars and fireworks. Plastic Man and Doll Man probably stole the show though, great episode all around.

@ Tizoc: I really, really need to start reading Red Robin, I have no clue as to why I have been holding off. Maybe because I don’t like the Red Robin persona, but I like Tim so purchase time.

Anyways picked up: Teen Titans #88, and Generations Lost #11-13.

Teen Titans was cool, I thought this was the start of his run but I guess I missed an issue, seems like I didn’t miss much though. The teaser at the end NEEDS to happen, that’d be pretty cool to see him a part of the team.

Despite liking Generations Lost, I think it’s gone on long enough. They keep getting into the same damn situations. 1: Break in somewhere remotely connected to Max Lord. 2: Search around, tell stories about the teams past. 3: Ambush of some sort. 4: Max Lord owns them, rubs it in their faces and does something extremely tragic to them. 5: Back to square one, only the world hates them a little more.

Seriously, every single time. I just cannot see where this is going now, and it’s just dragging along.

I recommend reading up from #13 onwards, since in the first 12 issues, Tim’s pretty…angsty

I’ll probably still get the first 12, they got them in TPB and I am a completion type of person, I dislike missing things. Angsty doesn’t fit Tim like, at all so that is odd.

IGN’s message board is trashing JMS’s Superman Grounded storyline saying that he writes Supes like he’s Forrest Gump

Well the reason he’s angsty is because he believes that Bruce is still alive out there somewhere and no one believes him. Note that this takes place after Battle for the Cowl and Bruce’s death.
He turns a complete 180 in #13 when Fabian N. starts writing the book (the first 12 were by Chris Yost) and is more optimistic and ‘fun’

I stopped going to IGN like six months ago, after the site changed and getting tired of their sometimes biased comic reviews. I like and respect JMS but he did drop the ball there, initially the concept sounded fun if not wholly original, but the actual product was very meh worthy.

Ahh alright, makes sense I guess. Can you give me some informaiton on that Kyoto chick (I think that is her name) that pops up in Battle for the Cowl and Red Robin? I saw her in Cowl but had no idea who the hell she was, and I’m usually on the up and up when it comes to Batman’s allies and enemies.

Do you mean Lynx-

If so, her identity is revealed in the comic, so I don’t want to spoil it for you ^_^;
