The new Wonder Woman costume is just '90s stupid. Stupid stupid, to the point where I’m just flabbergasted she doesn’t have two utility belts and three dozen pouches strapped all over. Just look at those shoulder pads.
If she’s supposed to look modern, why can’t she wear jeans or something? The tiara has to go, too. I get that it’s iconic but you can’t have it both ways - modern and iconic. Luke Cage stopped wearing his tiara at some point when he adopted the “modern” look. Wonder Woman has to do the same, if this new design is supposed to be modern. And what’s with the stupid dog collar? Didn’t Jim Lee learn a lesson when he gave Kyle Rayner a dog collar a few years back? Those bracers/fingerless gauntlets don’t look right, either. I’ve never seen anyone wear anything like those before. And I’ve been on Castro Street.
I think Wonder Woman’s outfit is just one of those you can’t really eff around with too much. She needs her tiara, she needs her bracelets, and she needs stars over her loins.
A design like this is akin to taking away Superman’s cape and giving him a buzz cut, a bomber jacket, a “hip” earring, and putting his underwear INSIDE of his pants. Oh wait. They already did that back in the '90s.
I rest my case.

lol This costume is a throwback of sorts (not entirely) to the stuff she wore in the 70’s when she was completely depowered (except all that stuff is white and no tiara), but you’re right about the 90’s twist being absurd… Hate the Jacket Idea, never liked it Rogue, never liked it on Conner Superboy Kent and never liked it on the Black night. at least that has to go.
Yet to pick up #600
Hey, I loved Conner with the spit curl, goofy shades, and leather jacket over the S-shield costume. It’s quite possible I am the only one though.
At first I wasn’t crazy about Wonder Woman’s new outfit but after reading the story with her in it in #600 along with Jim Lee and JMS’ thoughts on it I guess I don’t mind it so much. There’s also little things like if she holds up her bracelets and crosses her arms you’ll get a ‘WW’ and if she hits someone it might leave a ‘W’ mark on your face. :lol: I guess I’m fine with it since it seems temporary anyway.

Dexter(Dex-Star) origin was pretty good & sad.The guys that were about to throw him the river where the same ones that killed his owner.Also I’m ready for Spectre & the Butcher(The Red Lantern entity)Judging by his actions,I don’t think Atrocitus want to handle that anytime if Spectre says that he can’t handle him…DAMN!!! Action Comics #890 was too good, Pete Woods was always solid but I liked his artwork here best than the past superman projects he’s done so far…
Never really Read any of Paul Cornell’s Capt. Britain Stuff so I may do some digging because of this.
Some Silver-age robot -esque hokiness but IMO it works for the story.

Yeah I liked Action 890 even though I hate Lex.

I really liked the artwork Pete Woods did in 890 it was very clean.
Action #890 was by far the best I’ve seen in awhile.
So I am looking forward to Action Comics with Lex, but the teaser I saw bothered me. One: why the hell is Lois with him? And two: Does he still have his ring or is that one cover just all flash? I expect him to suit up at some point though, Lex does well at getting down and dirty on the rare occasion he does so.
Oh, and picked up all of Dick Grayson’s Batman run, and I love it. To bad it mgiht end here relatively soon, I don’t want Bruce back as the Batman so soon. Also Batman Beyond was greatness, can’t wait for that to pan out and hopefully become an ongoing.
Anyone reading John’s Flash run? So far I am liking it, but it seems pretty stagnant for the most part, I feel this arc would have been better dealt in like three issues or so.
Everything is explained in Action Comics 890; read it! Lex is one of my most hated comic book characters but I really liked this issue.
…and yeah I’m enjoying Johns’ Flash run too.

Bruce won’t be back as Batman i’m sure about that, same thing that went down with Steve Rogers
Johns flash run is good not great but it’s a fun read also Manipul’s art is a beauty
Manapul’s art is a thing of beauty THIS IS the stuff DC should be doing, assigning artists that bring about both the best in them as well as a tone that compliments the book. with Flash you knida get everything is “urgent” with the art-type. Marvel does that to great effect, The Daredevil artist some years back has a smudgy effect that adapts well to the mood of the story, Captain America with Steve Epting gets you a “documentary of war” feel, Larocca’s Iron Man gives you an almost Photorealistic approach mixed with technology. in DC it’s almost always the same “comic book” look no matter how good the art is.
Lex Luthor was THE ORIGINAL villain, He’s been an Evil Businessman, He’s Been a Mad Scientist (paved the way for Dr. Doom to an extent) and now we’ll see more depth to his character.

And I did enjoy the way they handled Bucky and Steve, it’d be a perfect idea for Bruce and Dick but you never know. And yeah the main reason I got the Flash run was the art, Barry is hardly my favorite speedster but Johns has a way of making me like him regardless.
Unlike KyleRayner who was created out of NOTHING and shoved down the fans, Wally had paid his dues as kid flash, and he stepped up and earned the flash name more than anyone else…
Hal Jordan and Wally West ARE the Brave and The Bold for me (they should make a run [or at least a story arc] off of that book with the two but even if they did now… it’s gonna be Barry and Hal)
Kind of Funny since the Term “Brave and The Bold” are BOTH associated with Flash and GL’s Pairing (Like Wolrd’s Finest) AND Batman’s Team-up with Various Superheroes.
Since you guys are discussing Lex I wondering if any of you have seen this yet.
