What happened?
You know the all dominos theme, well lets just say the bones are beginning to fall
BNR 13
[details=Spoiler] Issue starts with the famous Joe Chill burglary only this time he shoot Martha and lil’ Bruce and not only that he is happy about it he also paid Joe.
than a small panel about Thomas wayne returning to Gothan
and than Dr hurt(or is it Thomas or Nathaniel or the freakin devil) with his bat-man custom from RIP holding Grayson and damian in the bat-cave and shooting grayson in the head… and than we go 3 days back to when BNR #12 has ended
Grayson tells how he found out that the joker was Sexton
Gordon and Batman takes a ride toghter in the neo-batmobile, Gordon tells him that the guys prefer him ove the old Batman and Batman starts to figure out the bad guys plan (which is going to happen 3 days in an eclipse or like Hurt called it “when the black sun shines”)
Damien and conforts the Joker he tells him that he can se through his BS and when the Joker tells him that damien is just like his father Damien smacks him with a crowbar (best scene in the comic and probaly in the entire series by far)
Comic ends with the Batmoblie gets hit by a bazooka, Gordon and Batman surrounded by dolltrons and Pyg getting out of his cell[/details]
Overall an amazing issue and probay one of the best in Morrison’s run if not the best
and this arc, looks like it’s going to be the best arc of the series
When Morrison Brings his A-game there’s hardly any comics writer who can stand up to him IMO (well Alan Moore Obviously but he’s SSS Tier)
Batman & Robin #13 was indeed godly, and the art was fantastic too.
Also Dr. Hurt is not Thomas Wayne.
I don’t think so too
Maybe Nathniel Wayne or a descendant of him
Orrrrrrrrrr just some random psycho who knows Batman’s identity.
I’m sure to be awed and surprised by his true identity, but as a villain he might just the most dangerous of Batman’s rogues.
Anyone have any thoughts on Batman Odyssey #1 out of 12?
Nah way too easy for Morrison
Batman Oddysey Sucked… It was a topic that started a conversation i had with a friend that deals with DC’s current lack of Quality control in some titles.
Tim Daly & Kevin Conroy are back
Conroy, Daly Return In “Superman/Batman: Apocalypse” - Comic Book Resources
I wish they contacted Laurence Fishburne to Darkseid’s voice,he’s a perfect fit. Also Neal McDonough does the voice of Green Arrow in the 3rd animated short.COOL
Wasn’t horrible but not the type of Batman story I wish to read for 12 issues. Maybe if it was shorter. Nice artwork though.
Yeah the artwork for Odyssey is sweeeeet, glad they didn’t use the “Bare-legged” costume for Robin. One thing I liked though is that this was not a comic I finished reading in just five minutes.
Still so much hyped up about Cornell’s action run more than anything DC imo.
@Rugal- Silly question but you have read ‘Formerly known as’ and ‘I can’t believe it’s not the’ Justice League by Giffen right? Seeing how you enjoy Generation Lost and all.
I think him being a Wayne in general would be an odd idea, but it’s Morrison, Batman is his baby.
So I read B&R 12 and 13, and it’s the best series ever. This is taking into account the first issue, which is the only other one I read. I might pick up a bunch of back issues when I get my Blackest Night trades.
For DC I got: B&R 12/13, BD #5, BD Atom one-shot and Batman: Odyssey.
Atom one-shot was probably the most enjoyable of them which surprised me, it went into the usual origin yadda yadda yadda, but the story after that is pretty good and I’m curious enough to read the rest.
Am I the only one that doesn’t give a crap about Hawkman and Hawkwoman? Their story sucks, and the whole love thing is as aching to read as the Anakin/Padme BS in the Star Wars prequels were to watch. Nothing about that is interesting, and the fact that it always takes up space bugs me. On the other hand I really like Aquaman’s story, those his short in BD #5 was pretty preachy on recent events, but Mera is a fucking beast, I never knew she could kick so much ass.
Deadman is still alright to me, nothing really advanced on this latest thing, and the whole bullying him into rezzing is pretty ridiculous. I am still enjoying Brightest Day though, and the next few covers I’ve seen look pretty cool.
I’ve read a number of JLInternational Books (Since it’s original concept was Take the heroes from the newly acquired post-crisis comics like Earth-S and Charlton and mix them with a bit of earths 2 and 1) and a bit of “Formerly known” though I wasn’t able to finish it because i only borrowed the book but i read it enough to realize It has it’s own charm but it’s more comedy than anything, That’s why for me Maxwell turning heel is a bit of a wall banger but not much. and I guess it’s what makes me interested in the concept, it’s an edgier take on them and deals with Maxwell Lord’s New Status Quo. JLI is the only other version of the JL without the big 7 that i enjoyed… I don’t like the currrent “Justice Titans” and the old “Detroit League”
I’m trynna read batman where should I start.
TPBs:
Batman and Son
Batman the Black Glove
Batman RIP
Final crisis+ Battle for the Cowl
Batman and Robin
in that order
