Speaking of Crossovers I reread Infinite Crisis in one sitting and finally found appreciation for it, it was a good series (though not great) especially compared to Final Crisis…
However…
Having read all “52” issues in one sitting. I finally appreciated this Maxi-series, although dragging, the final moments were crowning moments of awesome for a lot of people…
I did the same with “Countdown” and it still sucks…
52 was dragging but with a good climax and ending… countdown was dragging but with a sucky ending
I want to get the Booster Gold trades, if they have a few out. Is Generations Lost the one dealing with Lord and how only Booster, Atom, and the other two (Fire & Ice? Forgot.) know he exists? I want to get into that comic big time.
1 52 Pick-Up Booster Gold (vol. 2) #1?6
2 Blue and Gold Booster Gold (vol. 2) #0, 7?10, 1 Million
3 Reality Lost Booster Gold (vol. 2) #11?12, 15?19 (kinda micro-Tear Jerker for me or at least “crowning moments of Heartwarming” with Ted Kord)
4 Day of Death Booster Gold (vol. 2) #20?25 and Brave and the Bold #23
5 The Tomorrow Memory Booster Gold (vol. 2) #26?31 (Featuring the cyborg Superman, I loved this arc but that’s just me) #32 and 33 are the start of Giffen’s run
Peter Milligan I guess will be taking over the batman title.
LOL now in my list Future Time Master Booster is potentially the King of prep time. he has mastered Time Travel, The Multiverse, and Hypertime (simplified handwaving but it’s good that it simply didn’t get retconned away but is actually his doing)
of course with PIS Bat’s is still the king of prep time.
Anyone know if the upcoming Blackest Night trade will be just the main title, or include the tie-in’s as well? I assume no on tie-in’s, and I might just try to get all of it on back issues instead of waiting since it’d be 50% off.
Is Milligan actually taking over? I was under the impression that Morrison would continue to write, and that Milligan’s issue 703 is a one-time thing to help out his buddy.
Man they slashed the hell out of that price on Amazon, good shit. I’ll price it up at my store (If they have a complete set) and if it’s not cheaper just wait for the trade, thanks a lot.
he became a tweener at least for awhile to add depth to his character. (much like how Thanos sometimes does this)
Besides Heel Sinestro IMO is one of the best DCU villains right now post-sinestro corps arc. so this would be a way to build him up.
However with this new Upper-Tier sinestro completely fleshed out characterization, one wonders what his motivation could be in joining Alex Luthor’s Secret Society in Infinite Crisis where he was nothing but an Underling… (such participation would make it seem trivial and little to attain current sinestro’s attention… or wait maybe that was all “retcon-punched” away though lol)
Give Sinestro a little more Push and he’ll be comparable to Magneto in terms of the company’s villain prominence and power.
By the way I can vouch for Peter Milligan, I liked his early 90’s Detective story runs… the only difference though is that today’s comics rely on Decompressed storytelling (which i am not a fan of BTW) and Milligan writes good One-and-done stories, So I dunno how he’s gonna adjust to padding.
I have all of Milligan’s '90s Batman stories. It’s great stuff. Should all be collected into a TRADE, BABY. There was also that one Batman annual a couple years ago during The Resurrection of Ra’s Al Ghul story. He also recently did a five issue arc on Batman Confidential which was also solid.
I don’t think a bigger Peter Milligan whore exists; I love that dude’s work. Even his crappy “I need to pay rent” comics are more interesting than most other writers’ stuff.
