Jason, when do you think you could make it down to this place some time? Also, we need to set up a training day for MWC, Jo and I really need to get 3rd strike going HARD. We’ve got 2 weeks, I’m calling him tomorrow and figuring out when he’s free and then we enter the Danger-room and train up.
@Ghaleon true enough. I suppose I’ll give the benefit of the doubt there. I haven’t played enough SF4 to decide though but…
Ehhh…sometime this week perhaps. Say when you’re going and I’ll see what I can pull. 45 minutes isn’t bad at all…I’m just really sick of driving…But yeah, I’ll try to pull something this week.
And I’ll help out with your guys “training”. I’ve been focused on rpgs for the most part, but eh, might as well help where you can since I’m probably not getting to MWC.
It’s sad because you used that x-men reference and I laughed and felt embarrassed to laugh at that at the same time
Danger room>time chamber
Danger room = Scenarios that could possibly happen in real life (if you’re the X-men that is)
Time Chamber= Place where you fight your dad and go SSJ mode.
Danger Chamber= ?
Scenarios where you could possibly fight your dad and go SSJ in real life of course
Hyperbolic time danger chamber room of MF DOOM
the hyperbolic diabolic tyme chamber is in my basement, while listening to mf doom and wearing fruit of the loom
Adam is going to the darkside! Killer Instinct… Who were you thinking of playing Adam?
KI = probably my first serious fighting game.
Also , I finally dicovered why we technically arent good at SF4 except for our gimmicks. We dont use link chains into specials. Ive realized thats what everyone goes who is “Good” qouote on quote…

AHAHAHAHHAHAHA EM WAS SO PISSED!!! thats the best thing ive seen in a while. Thank you Quan your always lookin out
Probably staged, but still funny.
It’s not just gimmicks, we don’t have good D, we don’t space, and we don’t abuse the clock. That’s how you win in 4, links help, sure, some characters don’t really need them, or they are fairly easy to do (i.e. Rufus/somewhat Honda). Also I’m not getting into KI seriously, and honestly does it matter what character you play in that game? You can just mash combos out fairly easy . I just use Orchid and Jago because their motions are easy for me.
Edit: Speaking of links:
Sheeeeeeeeit! Letting a dude Tea bag you is not the business…
I dunno, I figure Eminem didn’t take himself seriously anymore, nobody else does.
Adam, Im glad that you quit smokin ciggys. Do you feel on edge (non rival schools lately?). I remember when i quit for 3 months man. That shit was brutal paws of fury. It made me super horny and mad. Like i just wanted to fuck my nicotene habit out of my body so i could function. then i started gold lightan up again. You and two of my other friends recently quit. Id like to as well, this piece of shit needs to get in shape
I haven’t DDR’d in forever D: I can keep my AAs but my chances at AAAs are pretty much nil these days [
And to think I was only half an hour away. Lucky nicotine habit :[
Osirun, depending on what you’re trying to do, Guilty Gear and Blazblue on the same day seems like it would be a bad idea. I think most if not all GG players will at least give BB a shot, so having them both on the same day I guess makes it convenient for people that only want to show up the one time, but it’s not great for the arcade. I would recommend splitting it up so you basically get two communities in there at a time instead of both games for one community in the same day. Do you follow?
I’m not particularly interested in Ranbats but the reason i’m not interested isn’t because of the money, I just don’t think it’d be worth it to come a bunch to essentially buy my way into last place in everything. Regretfully I don’t even have the time to keep up with learning SF4, let alone prepping for KOF12 and BB, even with the opportunity to play these games at work.
I think this place has a lot of potential and we need to keep going to see it grow. The single elimination tournament went very well for their first time despite having two different consoles, and it was done by 10:30.
I want to actually try and play the old games to try to get high scores again, something i’ve never really been interested in until I saw Ghaleon beasting it up on Sunsetriders.
I dunno I don’t really have much to say on the matter other than that.
Damn where do you work!? I only have time to play one or two sessions a week, and I don’t play online.
The unique thing about fighting games is that knowledge is power.
Yeah, playing old games for score is really fun actually. Twin Galaxies has lots of MAME warriors, but there are few really good scores done on actual boards (which is a different category), so the chances of getting “world records” posted for arcade games are pretty good with a little practice. It gives you a reason to pick up the games otherwise “ruined” by freeplay too, since records usually need to be set on one credit.
Josh, I think you’re being overtly hostile to a place that has recreated something that hasn’t really excited in Ohio since like the mid-'90s. If you think playing MAME at home is the same as going to an arcade + playing on real setups + hanging out and meeting new people, I’d definitely disagree. They have a lot of really sweet games, like 30 boards not even installed in the back, and they’re getting new stuff all the time, AND obviously catering to regulars.
Also I think the guys and Osirun mentioned that ranbats will probably be free to enter. I’m not sure on the prize format or the frequency you’ll have to go to them – not sure if that’s decided yet.
They also had a random-game tourney already to open the place – that sounded really cool and they actually gave away a machine (a 3/4 scale Ms. Pac-Man I think) to the winner. I hope they do more stuff like that too
edit: Also, my DDR friends from C-bus and I advised him against getting any DDR/ITG machine. There isn’t the space for it – DDR needs to be kind of secluded – and there are plenty of machines around there. DDR isn’t the cashcow it used to be anyway.
