Dayton, Ohio. The one, the only, the best

I need some cards bro. You can find a list of those cards here.

I can bring two 16inch, flatscreen CRTs. They’re really nice and would both fit on a decent sized table. Probably right in that corner beside the pinball machines.

Just let me know if you’d like me to do this, and I’ll be sure to load them into my car on Saturday.

@SFIV Hate: Since I’m still new to the competitive play of fighters I can only see SFIVs problems through cloudy glass, but I do feel like it doesn’t have much to offer at high levels. To be clear, I think SFIV just doesn’t have much depth. If I learn and can apply Viper/Balrog’s feints and combos (as already shown in trial mode), then there isn’t much else to do except try out block strings and poking combos.

I like SFIV because it made me want to come onto SRK, but in truth I preferred playing HDR, even though I lost a lot in that game online. Seriously, my record would make you cry (I almost did); something like 20 wins and 120 losses.

BB and KOFXII to the rescue in my opinion, but we’ll see. Wouldn’t hurt if I practiced more Marvel and 3s as well.

It’s not as much of a concern for HD games running on HD systems (though lag may still be present,) but if you try to put a PS2 on an HDTV, you lose a lot of frames because it has to upconvert the standard def game to HD. My main concern in my post was for HnK since that’s on PS2.

I agree that 4 feels limited because trial mode combos are all you can do.

Juggles are really perplexing because it seems each move is programmed individually with a juggle or non-juggle property. Rather than saying any special can juggle but no normals. Or any move can juggle period, like in 3s.

But it gets stranger. Ryu cannot shoryu FADC shoryu. He can j.strong once but the second time it loses juggling ability. Why can’t abel c.fiercexroll, c.fiercexroll,c.fiercexroll?

I think capcom may have finally made a “fair” exploit free game. Whether that’s good or bad is up for debate.

I can teach you HDR.

yay , I jsut got beat by a ryu doing nothing but shoryus.

CAPCOM GO FUCKING DIE.

Ross you have to block those and punish… you probably went out like that beastly Bison player against that Sagat. He didn’t block and punish. SRK is not that beastly dude.

Yes, against abel it is… Dude it was such bullshit… I would bait a SRK… then immediately before he even touches the ground I get hit with another one… it was beating everything… SRK is fucking nonsense. I was even turtling… the whole time.

c.RH… you sit in place and do c.rh. I know its not super slow. And this isn’t ST so the srk is not super fast.

The best part about that is… shoryus beat his cr.RH.

:wasted: nvm I’m done.

Exactly its fucking bullshit… oh guess what just played a ken… and he did the same shit.

Yay Shit fighter 4.

Yeah Abel has very few options to actually offensively stop a srk, I’ve practically abandoned the cr.rh because of that, it never looks like their feet touch the floor before another one comes flying out, sometimes I wonder if they’ve somehow mapped it to one single button, or more than likely that stupid shortcut for dp motions that leaves me ex skyfallin when I wish to ultra through fireballs.

Anyway anyone headin up to AL tomorrow, I’ve gotta work saturday so tomorrow and sunday are the only days of the weekend I can show up.

Yeah he has very few options against anything in this game… I swear if you dont have a good reversal in this game that character sucks.

So what can Alex do against lp shoryu spam then. That’s pretty much how josh dominated in cvs2 as well with ken.

Better excuses please.

Alex? UMMMMMM PARRY? OR EX flash chop , depending on my spacing. OR… EX Air Stampede (blocked or whiffed shoryus) , or normal for that matter. Depending on spacing.

EDIT I just about broke my copy of SF4. It may soon be used as a frisbee for my dog.

WHY THE FUCK ARE CHARACTER WITH SHORYU TYPE REVERSAL SO GOOD FOR EVERYTHING? IT DOESNT MAKE ANY FUCKING SENSE AT ALL!!!

If you’re getting raped by DP’s in 3s you should stop playing. Not only can you parry, you can throw, and if you know your characters quickest move that can link (not jab obviously) then they are up for some high damage punishing. DP’s are nothing in 3s like they are in other games. Frames/Recovery is radically different. ST, DP’s are really good, but still not as good as 4. CVS2…well, I wouldn’t know yet, but I can tell you Ken and Ryu are not top-tier in that game, and reversals feel very awkward. 3s is a fair game, why? Because you have over 9,000 options in any given situation, and every single character has 1 option to get them out of everything but throw. Yes there is character imbalances, but every single fighter has that.

If that was aimed toward me , I was’nt fucking talking about 3s , EXCEPT for the obvious alex talk. The rest of that was about SF4.
