The only thing we need to know is whether or not Ono is producing it. UMvC3 showed that the sprites could look very pretty for the DS cast (I personally prefer the MvC3 look of characters to SF4). So the producer and battle planner are the only concerns.
If the rumor that it’s being developed is true, then yes Ono is producing it.
I’m 100 percent sure Ono is going to be producing it if it exits.
Then the game already officially sucks.

I don’t remember the VS community requesting the game much, and i certainly don’t remember them calling people scrubs for liking a game. It was darkstalkers fans in general that requested a sequel.
I really REALLY don’t trust new capcom and i am holding the game on the lowest point of hype, as well as any thought that this game will be good, until Capcom proves it to me otherwise. I will be open minded, but i have a feeling they are going to find a way to fuck it up bad, I will heavily criticize any info released in the game until this team gets it perfect. Until then, i don’t have any hope for capcom, every game they make from now on sucks from day one unless they prove to me that the game can still be good. It doesn’t have to be VS, but god at least make it GOOD. I believe that what all fans should do if they really care about the quality of the game, but that is just me.

I’d just laugh at em, but then I’d feel bad about ace. Most other DS fans who actually play the game(s) regularly don’t give a shit about this announcement, the SFxTekken engine or Ono’s(and his team most likely) involvement.
I’ve started to take a similar approach after finding out that Spectator mode will have to be patched into Skullgirls(SG is top notch though). Just keep expectations at rock bottom and appreciate the tiny bits, but don’t settle for a mediocre end product.
Still… all of these rumors are annoying and very worrying.

Most people who actually play or have experience the games beyond pretty pictures are not excited by this rumor as far as I can tell. I’ll be surprised if the opposite turns out to be true, but that is on them.
You play the game regularly, right? I mean that I don’t expect the game to be good so I can laugh at everyone else since most of them don’t know squat about the series or the games. I feel some sympathy for you because you are probably hoping against all odds that it runs out great even though the future looks grim imo.

Provided this exists, we have no knowledge about the game other than the same engine, which as noted by others means very little.
