Those dragon warriors with the sickle? They aimlessly attack in one direction as I roll behind them, then stand aimlessly with a confused look on their face.

Man. Invading in NG+ really highlights how much my build sucks for PVP :lol: I have little stamina, little Vigor, and about 30 each in STR, FTH and INT. Just under level 100, and it’s a glass cannon without the actual cannon.
I mean, when I hit someone with a fire spell, that hits hard. But I have to sacrifice a ring slot to get an acceptable casting speed since I only have 10 DEX, and even then spells are easily reactable, so that’s not really an option. Meanwhile people’s regular weapon combos either one-shot me or take off nearly all my life. Fire buffs are a possibility, but they don’t last long.
I figure I’ll respec once I’m done with Sirris’ questline in this playthrough. It’ll be that long before I get to Chaos-infuse anything again anyway.
I’m a big fan of getting a back stab, running aeway, and having the bad guy go about his business. Just repeat this step until he’s dead.
With Aldrich’s Sapphire, each back stab covers the magic cost. so you can re-cast and essentially stay invisible as long as you are stabbin’ fools.
So Dex increases casting speed, good to know.
Made a new character as a spell caster. Got 20 in INT and FP stuff. Guess I’ll dump stuff in DEX next.
So far it’s kind of boring but maybe all the whacky spells later will help.
I read that equipping the ring that decrease spell cast time is the same as leveling 10 Dex to 99 Dex. Save your levels and just use that ring. Lol
Anyways, I would barely call invasions as real PvP in this game. Things are stacked so much in the host’s favor that it’s ridiculous. A lot of time it’s like you’re World Warrior Gief vs Old Sagat.
Default Sage Ring increases your cast a big chunk, but not fully.
First off, DEX only increases cast speed up to 50 DEX, after that there is no change. At around 20-25 DEX plus default Sage Ring, you are at max cast speed, with Sage Ring +2, you are at max cast speed even with default DEX.
Going to respec into a full pyro build tomorrow, not gonna be anywhere near min/max because I’m a warrior starting class but if I like it I’ll create a new character for it.
What’s the soft cap for Pyro? 30/30 or is it higher now
30/30 is soft cap yeah but it can be worth it to go above that. The way the stats actually work is pretty complicated and I highly suggest reading this if you care about details:
If you just want the basics, then yeah, 30/30 is fine.

I can’t believe I never thought about this sooner.
I just killed the abyss watchers. I kept doing really well by parrying with the Grass Crest shield, but then I’d make one mistake and get DESTROYED. I finally accepted that I suck at parrying in this game and just used the black knight shield. It made the fight much easier because I stopped trying to get all fancy with the parries and rushing the boss down and just grinded it out with some sword and board.
Wonder if you can summon purples whilst you have a pet Lothric, fuck a cosplay gank squad when you can have the real thing right there.
Interesting thing to note with hidden body.
If you use the storyteller’s staff to poison things, they get poisoned but don’t get hit by anything so they just carry on about their business after the initial “Ah something made a noise near me, lets look in that direction/do the thing I do before attacking” reaction until they keel over.

Any word on when the dlc releases?
First DLC confirmed for “Fall”. Most likely November if we go by Bloodborne’s DLC release timing.
Had there been any hint or clue as to how it will be accessed? Bloodborne had a fairly obvious one.
Also, what is the best katana right now? I kind of want to upgrade one.
They’ve never told us this early, I’m sure when it’s out there will be some news about it.
Best katana is probably Washing Pole, which is actually more used like a spear, or Chaos Blade(pure DEX), or Uchigatana(quality-ish)
