Dark Souls 3: Prepare to Die Once More

Er, are you sure about that? Cause I read that using any Pale Tongues with her at all will break Sirris’s quest. I’m not positive, but is your source positive?

Offering Rosaria any Pale Tongues for any reason will fuck up the Sirris Questline.

My recommendation is to just finish that questline completely before giving her tongues.

Ok I just got the Dark Sword, and I was using a longsword before that. I don’t see the real advantage of stomp outside of PVP. Other than the fact the sword seems to trade more favorably and do more stun what is the advantage of the Dark sword over the Lothric Knight Sword or a Longsword in Campaign? I guess I expected it to be more broken considering how everyone talked about it.

What I hear about the Dark Sword is that it basically outranges a ton of weapons it shouldn’t outrange. That’s its main major advantage, on top of all the other stuff.

It’s not that it’s Chun-in-3S tier. It’s just that it does everything just a little better than most other stuff.

Well fuck, boys.

I finally took the plunge, and bought a $50 key off of G2A.

30 minutes…

Dark Sword is considered one of the best weapons in the game because of its damage output, stamina usage, and range. I believe out of all the straight swords, it has one of the highest, if not the highest, attack ratings at +10. It’s still a strong PvP weapon for reasons already stated, even if it is very straight forward (no pun intended).

Speaking of Dark Sword, last night I ran into like six summoners that summoned me for PvP, only to use Estus mid-duel, which is a big no-no. I think a lot of them used Dark Sword (one used an Estoc) and just rolled and mashed, expecting easy wins or something. I know there are no hard rules in PvP or anything, but it does seem pretty weird that you summon someone to duel, even bow before starting the duel, but then use Estus anyways, which give you a huge advantage over the phantoms because you have double the heals they do. I don’t mind scumfuckery in gank squads or anything, but that just strikes me as really weird since it looks like you’re wanting to have a legit duel where you out play someone. In any case, I think I beat every single host that drank Estus by straight up outplaying them, forcing them to use all their Estus. One got knocked down to 1 HP (he had the second chance spell that lets you take one more hit), and began to run away because he had no more Estus… lol. Eventually he threw down the “I’m sorry!” carving as I caught up to him and smashed my big, thick Black Knight Great Axe into his back.

the distance i’d get hit from by long ass spears is the distance i get hit by BY dark swords , which is the biggest problem with the dark sword. It has a fackt ap hitbox the size of smough.

edit : dark sword 100% MLG

I was too.

I made that mistake. Her questline doesn’t end until you defeat the twin princes. After that you should find her corpse somewhere and the Ashe maiden will sell her armor set.

So I was playing around in PvP the other day and I discovered a few things.

-I’m really bad.

-Sacred flame doesn’t give a shit about shields. Seriously, it’s immensely satisfying to reach through someone’s great shield, bring them to their knees, and blow them away. If you ARE a pure pyro, this is potentially a 1 hit kill in PvP. (it does come out kind of slow however)

-Watched a video, and having the sage ring equipped with at least 12 Dex is just as fast as casting with 99 dex. Point is, you don’t need dexterity as long as you have a sage ring equipped.

I got 31 of the 43 achievements. I could get all the endings and renforce the Estus to the highest level. Fuck getting all gestures, rings and magic though.

Magic and rings not so bad outside of covenant stuff.

You should check out the Sacred Flame glitch. Pretty hilarious. OHKO with it, but really no one should ever be hit with Sacred Flame outside of not knowing about it.

So went round 3 on my estoc pve build. Round 1 was aight. Round 2 i ended after 40 minutes. Round 3 i got it good so far. Around level 50 with all bosses done except yhorm, princes, dragonslayer, nameless, demon king, and cinder. Oh, and that 1 shot dragon.

Estoc with refined gem, currently level 10, and only 30 strength and like 25 dex is really good. Just gonna wear the knight ring, put strength to 35, and then dex out. Refined gem scales with strength and or dex. I dont know if its either or, or you double up. If its either or, i’ll take mad shit out of dex, dump it into health and stamina, and keep it moving. I’ll test that out later when im not half asleep.

Also, when you get use to playing a certain way, and focusing on certain types of builds, you dont realize how great having stamina is. I see why i died a lot more earlier on, besides not knowing the game. Like stamina makes a hell of a lot of difference in the game. Duh jimmy, where you been. Unfortunately playing ds1 and 3 with fairly shit stamina, and being fine with it.

Yea Stamina’s a pretty big deal yo lol.

Stamina consumption is too lenient right now, you can roll about 8-10 times in a row at 40END and recover enough to roll some more anyway. Makes stamina management feel worthless and doesn’t reward a player for correctly managing their actions. Really dislike how stamina feels atm.

Finished Deacons of the Deep, way too easy for a boss that gives you 40,000 souls.

On to Farron Keep, got the 2nd bonfire.

Level 25, hornets ring, flyns ring at 10ish weight, red tearstone ring active.

And claw (raw +2) still doing garbage damage, even on riposts and backstabs, only reason I’m using this shit is to cosplay Vega.

Lol, don’t play Bloodborne then.

Bloodborne is meant to be a lot more fast paced though. Regarding stamina in Dark Souls III, I feel like it’s fine where it is. 40 Endurance is probably excessive, but rolling is fine, IMO. Managing your stamina during rolling is not that important I feel, but rather how you manage your stamina when you’re attacking, rolling, and attacking again to keep up pressure during PvP. Stamina management for PvE is pretty simple: just don’t let your stamina drop to zero. Bosses are designed to give you a little bit of breathing room to rebuild a little stamina between rolls while they’re attacking, which is perfectly fine, especially since some bosses are very aggressive or have moves that require intensive amounts of rolling (i.e. Dancer spinning attack).

This is pretty much why Bloodborne PVP isn’t as fun to me as Dark Souls 2/3 PVP. Dodge dodge dodge dodge dodge dodge poke dodge dodge dodge dodge dodge dodge dodge pokepoke dodge dodge shoot shoot shoot dodge poke dodge dodge dodge shoot dodge dodge shoot

Mind you, I’m not dissing Bloodborne as a whole. That same mechanic makes the game downright amazing in PVE.

I do feel like you don’t really NEED a lot of stamina in DS3 if you’re not going for heavy weapons or shield turtling.
