Interesting take on a luck build. Every build I see tries to go for 40/40 in Luck and Dex, with a few points onto strength. Do you get anything out of those 10 points over 40? I typically won’t scale my stats that high because the return on them is so bad.
Argue? we are DISCUSSING! And this is the internet, so we will discuss and pick apart to our hearts content, especially when people write essays about their opinions… how can we, an interweb community, not weigh in on that???111!1!!?oneone
Only level up VGR, INT(til 60) and ATN(30 for 5 slots, 35 for max FP stat cost effectiveness, 40 for 6 slots), rush through most of the game using invisible body and spook until you can get Soul Spear, then Crystal Soul Spear in the end game. Pretty sure Orbeck sells Farron Flashsword, so that’ll be handy-ish, and you can get Soul Greatsword very early too.
It’s not even the least bit exciting until NG+ lol
Yeah probably. Just have the lightest armor on, the best staff, which would I THINK be either the Sage or Crystal Staff, make sure to have BOTH Sorcery boosting rings on because their effects multiply each other if you have both of them on, absolutely keep the Sage ring on because that massively upgrades your cast speed(and when you can find it in NG+1 and NG+2, the Sage Ring +1 and then +2)
Oh and spells do take stamina so consider leveling that up as well. You might even be able to leave VGR really low and instead pump stamina so you always have room to roll. Might be smarter to pick one or the other, lots of VGR or lots of END.
Someone needs to teach Fromsoft how to give good patch notes. I hope we get a more detailed list later.
I mean like, when they “Adjusted the consuming FP” is it going up or down?
Looks like this patch has the potential to fix a lot of problems with pvp, and the darkmoon summoning thing too! I wish they did something with spell casting speed, but this could shape up to be a pretty good patch.
They approach patch notes the same way they approach developing their games; Make it vague as hell and let anyone interested figure it out for themselves later. Smash does a even worse job with their patchnotes, you literally have to data mine the game just to see them.
Yeah, but FP cost isn’t the issue with magic, it’s animation speed. I mean, if they reduce the cost, cool I guess, but not very meaningful. If they increase the cost, bummer, but again, not very meaningful.
That’s why there’s a little bit of unease with me every time a patch note clames there’s going to be an adjustment. Like when everyone (started) said magic was useless, and Fromsoft was like “People complaining magic not good enough? Let’s reduce the damage a farron flash sword and magic great sword!” Of course, you know how that looked on the patch notes right?
Also, what’s everyone’s take on “magical infusions”? I get that simple and blessed are suppose to be weaker but with special benefits, but why use chaos, lightning, or magic infusions if you can’t buff your weapon? Seems like regular ol’ sharp/heavy/refined infusions are best even for spell casters.
If you’re mainly a caster, keeping your weapon buffed is just wasted time and wasted potential damage. The buff will run out before you can really make use of the extra damage it gives you, compared to the same FP/time cost of just tossing more plasma. The weapon becomes the secondary weapon that you wanna just pull out and use whenever.
That’s when having higher nonbuffed damage works out better for you. Which… is kinda limited, but hey, that’s the case with simple/blessed too.
Of course, in PVP you are going to be using your weapon a whole lot more unless you’re Super Dedicated, so it makes more sense to have a good buffable weapon.
i tried a sorcerer build out before , using farron flash sword + c.sage rapier + small shield + random spells i thought would “catch” people.
It wasn’t even bad but in the end it just made you wish you’d go full STR or DEX instead.
Never too late to turn back on a build. By this point in the game you should have access to Rosaria (who can respec) and buyable titanite. Poke into arguably the toughest area in the game, and you’ll get buyable chunks and such, though those are expensive. Armor doesn’t upgrade any more, thank goodness, so you can switch that around at will.
Unless of course you murdered the people who could get you the stuff you want for your respec, of course.
