I hope this letter finds you well. If you are just interested in progressing through the game (I.E. not being summoned into other people's worlds, PvPing, etc) you should equip the way of blue covenant. If you don't, then we have no way of protecting you should one of those nasty red spirits try to kill you. Just equip the covenant whenever you are a host of embers and we will come rushing to your rescue.
Remember gentle host, if you’re not helping us, you’re helping the Red/Mad phantoms!
Running through NG+ grabbing all of the +1 versions of rings, got to Aldrich in just over an hour, the game has the same length as DKS1 once you know what to do.
Not complaining, I’m happy it isn’t drawn out. Took me 20ish hours on my first playthrough to find everything and 100% the items in every area, Dark Souls 1 had like the perfect length
Did he really die? I’m about to finish his quest line on my current run and have read up on the guidelines, but I thought he just dropped his gear and went on his merry way. Does the player actually see a dead body?
[details=Spoiler]He dies because you actually get the souls he drops when he “disappears”. RIP Onionbro.
Also, apparently you can see him sip his final Siegbrau if you walk away and create enough distance between you and him. He then falls over and dies. I have not confirmed, however.[/details]
