Dark Souls 3: Prepare to Die Once More

talking about difficulty in souls games is pointless imo anyway.
just save ur energy fellas , and that’s all of u.

There’s a way to cripple Yhorm? Is it like breaking the Stray Demon’s legs? (Which I only found out about after killing it a third time)

And another question: How’s Sorcery for PvE? I’ve wanted to make a Sorc from the beginning but I’ve seen a bunch of people shitting on Magic.

Yeah, thats my bad. I went too left. I enjoy the series too much to divulge into my nonsense. Id rather discuss more shit about ds3 from the fun, to technical.

It’s not necessarily the fact that “it came after my first run” but rather how progression works and how there isn’t any progression after the initial playthrough. Nothing changes except numbers scaling up on enemies. Like I said earlier, I’m not going to call Bloodborne extremely difficult just because chalice dungeons have common mobs that one shot you; that is not an accurate depiction of the overall difficulty of the game.

I didn’t die to Old Demon King first time I fought him. The fire demon killed me at least three or four times.

Not exactly lore related, but I did find it a bit strange they decided to have her questline play out like that. Or going into an NPC’s world as well. Like it’s fine how it works, although I’m not sure why they didn’t do it like Eileen’s questline in Bloodborne where it’s still your world. I guess they wanted to make it a bit easier for the player just in case they died.

Yeah, youd have to give me a bit to find it, but i watched someone with a magic build beat him. You just HAVE to hit him in the head to kill him. Not sure if you can do it with any weapon outside of a magic build. Maybe a large great sword or club has a big enough hitbox. Sorry, cooking, and shit. I can find it in a few.

Well like…it was such a simple comment to be so misunderstood. Was just saying that it does get a lot harder if you play up to the higher levels of NG+. I even said I understood why most people don’t get to, or want to get to that point. But some people do, and it’s worthwhile content if what you are looking for is a brutal difficulty, which is what the game promises on the box, and a lot of people have said they thought the base game was too easy. Well the content is there if you that is what you’re looking for. If it’s not then that’s fine, like…I don’t PVP. I invade when I’m trying to lvl a covenant but I get why people like it, I don’t think it’s pointless just because it’s something I’m not very interested in.

Anyway it was more an off hand comment cuz everyone says Souls is easy but I think my poor tank is about to Hollow. I can’t beat O&S on NG+5 by myself. I’ve tried. It’s been like two months. Shit’s fucking hard. Anyway it’s not really a big deal, sorry.

Here are a couple examples with magic, and just without the storm ruler

I just realized why that guy had barely any health. 60INT by Yhorm?! Holy shit I’m going to be squishy.

Plus, I made my Sorc look like as much of a bitch as possible, oh yeah.

Died to the Crystal Lizard for the first time since my first time playing the game…

10 things you didn’t know about DS3.

I was like yeah i know everything already and turns out i didn’t know of anything that is mentioned in the video , lol.

I have been playing the game for a bit I just killed the second boss, I am liking Deep Battle Axe, that weapon is pretty great for an early game weapon. I got the claymore, but it’s too slow to be of any use to me. I’m rolling with a Warrior at the moment. I’d much rather stun lock with delayed R1 than use a claymore. I think swords are ok, but so far I am really liking the stunlock of the battle axe. I suck at parrying but am trying to get better because it is so good. My current shield does not have parry, so I am hoping to get a good shield with that ability for my next upgrade. I am new to Souls, I have Souls 1+2 in my steam backlog and I have only played the intro of Souls 1.

Beat groot. On the road of sacrifice. Got invaded and died once, then died because of a stupid mistake.

Also Fuck Kingler. Had that mother fucked down and his bitch ass dugtrio’s away.

Mark ass trick.

Also met the black Knight. He wasn’t having any of it.

A video breaking down why turning on poise would ruin PvP:

It’s interesting because I noticed other prominent PvPers also came to the same conclusion very quickly when the topic of DkS1 poise returning was brought up.

Also, dude brings up good points why heavy weapons can totally compete with estoc/straight sword.

Spoiler

Made some really good progress today, ending with killing the Dancer of the Valley

How far am I into the game, based on that. I assume I have to be pretty close to the end.

maybe have 1/4th to 1/5th left

Yeah, your almost done. Well if you got to the dancer naturally, and didnt do it in like the first 30 minutes of the game. Dancer is pretty easy after you die like 15 times, and realize her basic patterns. lol.

I know you already beat her, but just to give my piece on her. Basically for anyone who hasnt gotten to her yet, stay close, lock on, rotate clockwise, attack usually twice and be ready to dodge an attack. Rinse repeat. Then she will reach for her swords. Wail on her because when she starts spinning, she spins away from you anyways. If you stay close to her when she starts her spin thing, you wont get hit. It only has a hit box when youre far away, and then after a few loops and she does ground blade spin, just dodge once, and start swinging again.

You can also rotate counter clockwise to avoid her sword when she does that flame circle during the first half of the battle. You can also just dodge and keep hitting.

Most of the enemies in dark souls in general, and dark souls 3 specifically are very weak when you stay up close. Only the last boss really forces you to go in and out of range a lot. 80 percent of the other bosses are, stay in their butthole, rotate, hit, dodge, rotate, win.

So i started a new run last night. Assassin, same shit, but a midnight black character. Using straight sword only. Luck build, because straight sword with raw gem gets no bonus for dex or strength. But the different thing im doing is selling everything, and only using the default gear for assassin. Im getting all items, and i sell all of em. Just dumping souls into health and endurance to start, and later into luck cause why not.

My next run is gonna be a gundyr halberd strength run, but imma get it early in the game by killing the dancer early on. Halberds are usually my weapon of choice, but ive been fucking around with the swords this time. After my halberd run, I’ll ng+ it and see what kind of style i can bring to the run, over simply killing shit.

One thing i cant say ive bothered with in dark souls, or have ever seen on youtube, is stylish runs. Maybe there is a market for that content. Dark souls stylish runs. Just defeating enemies with style, or using little tricks to clear out areas, and blah blah.

Yeah he makes some solid arguments on both accounts.

I actually killed her in the first attempt.

Dark Sword is just too good.
