Dark Souls 3: Prepare to Die Once More

[details=Spoiler]I agree about Dragonslayer armor. The boss was a complete pushover. It felt like a glorified Lothic Knight. Something like it being a late game boss is embarrassing.

I disagree with Aldrich. He was the one boss the completely wrecked me. It was a struggle for me just to get near him. His magic was not kind to my build[/details]

I made a huge post on reddit. Pretty much details my theories on the lore and some of the things I think that tie this universe and Bloodborne together.

I like how the guys on reddit think your wrong just because they say so.

Yeah. I haven’t spent much time on reddit, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to get much of a real discussion with those people…

That reddit is better than the steam forums. At least half the topics ain’t filled with users bitching about the poor state of PvP and invasions.

Neither was mine really, but I accidentally figure that if you pretty much just waited in the center of the room and spun the camera to be ready for his spawn location, then ran straight to him…you could just cheese him before he could do anything and then he’d just retreat. Rinse and repeat. Not even kidding man, It’s really that simple
Though yes, his purple lazors did do a ton of damage.

PS: I think there’s like 5 of us with an avatar showing the exact same thing XD

You got lucky with him porting out constantly, I fought him yesterday doing exactly that and he would just stick around shooting purple homing assholes while shooting arrow storms over my head or lighting the fucking ground all over the place on fire. Or he’d port in and shoot giant purple lasers at me while spawning more of said homing assholes.

People who haven’t heard @crotchpuncha 's story about the old woman and the palm tree are missing out.
Might be the best story i’ve ever been told.

That is really cool man. I hoped there would be some ties between Souls games and Bloodborne. My guess is they can’t make them too blatant since Dark Souls is a multiplatform game and BB is not but they could slip in cool little references to leave the possibility open.

Thanks. Yeah, I think there’s too many similarities and connections to ignore. Nobody on Reddit was having it though, it basically devolved into everyone chalking everything up to coincidence and believing that FromSoft is just “re-using assets” from Bloodborne. Nobody wanted to hear anything outside their own perspective. I should’ve known though, most forums don’t have the amount of posters capable of intelligent discussion like we do here on SRK. I just took the post down and washed my hands of it.

I’ll probably re post it on here later, if anyone’s interested in discussing the points I’ve brought up.

Finished the game. I hated the Nameless King, until I put on a Dragonslayer Greatshield and he went from the most difficult boss fight in the game for me, to the easiest from one item change. Goddamn.

I loved the game. Not sure where I’d tier it against the others in the series just yet, but it was great and the quality was very consistent all the way through. Soon I’ll be getting those sweet, sweet +2 and +2 rings in New Game Plus.

Still can’t agree. You can pretty much just run around randomly to avoid all of his attacks. That’s the actual strategy against the arrows; run in a wide circle…

I find reddit to be pretty annoying in general so I’m not surprised by this reaction at all.

Damn, I had to look up how to beat the giant. I was doing basically no damage to him and just could not figure out how to beat him through regular means. I was so focused on the fight I didn’t even try to get the item.

Alright I’m in the DS3 world now guys, time to git gud.

Great? I didnt say that wasnt the strat, i said you where lucky he kept porting out instead of doing anything unlike what he was doing for me which was sticking around and attacking constantly. There’s not really anything to disagree with here man.

Ok the Crystal Sage doesn’t respawn, that’s good. Why do I get the feeling i’m so under leveled? I’m only 71. Though technically there is no such thing since you can sl 1 the game…

I was around SL 100 when I reached that point. It was still a bitch to get through.
