So, now that I’m nearing the end…I’m thinking about doing a Youtube series for this game. Where I’d go boss by boss and give detailed insight on their lore, how they fight, and then rate them as a boss on a scale from one to ten. Or maybe some other scale. What do you guys think?
Probably gonna end up buying a capture card, the PS4’s native recording resolution is kinda poop. But yeah, I think it’d be a fun little series.
BSB and Logarius fucked me up my first playthrough too, although they were under seven deaths each.
Nameless King’s phase two reminded me a lot like Ludwig’s phase two from Bloodborne: hits like a god damn truck but all the attacks are very slow. Nameless King felt far more aggressive than Ludwig though. Hopefully my second run in with the boss won’t prove to be as difficult now that I “got gud”.
Good old Ring of Favor. Never taking this ring off.
If I use a Refined Gem on a weapon I have, can I take the gem out ALA Bloodborne or is it Souls style where it’ll be permanent? Thinking about using it on my Dark Sword, it makes it so Str/Dex scale with B/B compared to a C/D scaling and it adds a lot of damage.
PVP in this game is far from perfect; there is a lot of dumb shit atm. However, having the obscuring ring makes it all worthwhile. This thing is seriously too fun
Reason why I’m on that Dark sword is retarded train is because of that high base damage and crazy scaling from Refined Dark sword. There’s so few weapons that have scaling as good as that on top of high base damage.
Also, here’s a bunch of fun (and depressing) little photos I’ve taken throughout my journey. I can’t wait until the day where it’s been years and years since this game came out, and I’ll be able to look back on these fondly and remember my first playthrough. It’s always the most special playthrough, after all.
Finished the game tonight. Total death count was 82, although I played this game a bit more yolo than Bloodborne; didn’t care about dying as much.
Overall the game was great, although I find a lot of weapons uninteresting/not cool, and the bosses, aside from a few, to be pretty uninteresting as well. On to NG+ to get the NPC questlines I missed! I also want to try some different builds as well (I went a strength build).
I have a slight complaint about covenants. Getting rewards for 10 and 30 item offerings is wayy too easy. I started Rosaria last night and I’m done already (also, 10 tongues for the incredibly powerful obscuring ring is too few). Obviously I don’t want it to be something absurd like 500 net wins in a PVP arena, but something like 30, 50, and 100 would have been nice imo
These two weapons haven’t posed a problem for me at all, I’ve done a ton of Forest PvP and it’s not giving me any more trouble than some of the other weapons I’ve seen people use. Haven’t really heard anyone on the Souls forums complain about them either.
Um, wut?
I have to take the Covenant Rings off if I want to play in peace, otherwise I’m getting summoned to defend the forest every 3 fucking seconds lol. I thought it might be fun to get summoned for an invasion every now and then as I play through, but goddamn you can’t even get anything done in your world with how often you get summoned.
I don’t have a problem with the Covenant Rewards right now, it’s better than having to get 60 wins in the Blood Covenant or farm 50 Loyce Souls in Dark Souls 2.
^My first run through the Ancient Wyvern, he’s piss easy but that was a fun little boss. It was actually a pretty cinematic battle. Pretty sure that bell is only sitting there to mislead you.
Yep, I have. Weapons with hyper armor have an advantage. Its’s not a huge advantage but it definitely is one. I feel like this game will have several really strong weapons but some of those weapons counter other ones so it’s best to have multiple types. I carry Carthus Greatsword, Rapier, Composite Bow and a weapon skill shield, and no one weapon poses an insurmountable threat to all of my options.
Also, people in general are sleeping on how good the two short bows are, holy crap. I mostly use CGS and bow and not many people beat it unless they’re just straight way better than me or I make too many dumb desicions in a row
I’ve NEVER been summoned as a blue or wolf cov and I leave them on for hours at a time. I’m definitely not alone in this, but I’ve seen just as many people say they’ve never had an issue with it. Feels like the netcode just ignores half the playerbase in those covenants, but i’m guessing the amount of people in the covenants just greatly outnumbers the amount ofminstances in which they can be summoned
[details=Spoiler]I completed Yuria’s quest line a while ago and I just found the fire keeper eyes at the untended Graves. Is the Yuria endings locked in or will it be overwritten if I give the fire keeper the eyes?[/spoilers]
