Dark Souls 3: Prepare to Die Once More

In a PvP sense I think it makes farming easeier so you can use rare items more.

Bleed and poison scale with luck and there are a couple of weapons which do too.

Hollow infusions of any weapon also scale with luck

Heavy weapons are awesome in this game. Gonna make my character a heavyhitter with some “essential” pyro spells.

Always get fucked up by the High Lord after I snap off two of his bracelets. One time I wasn’t ready for the sprint --> gas move he does, another time he took out a sword and cleaved 90% of my life bar in a single swipe.

I’ll take him out soon, he doesn’t seem all that difficult, just kind of gimmicky like a lot of giant bosses in the Souls series. I also managed to keep Anri’s questline going thankfully.

That’s why I haven’t caused any bleed damage. I haven’t put anything into luck. I’ll change to another weapon.

Slightly pissed now I’m looking at the wiki and realised I’ve missed something important that seems impossible to fix without fucking up my build

[details=Spoiler]
So the whole Dark Sigil/Yulia of Londor questline requires you to use Yoel of Londor to level up 5 times and acquire 5 dark sigils/become mad hollow. Thing is, my build is finished. It’s capped at level 130 and I’m already at that level and refuse to level higher in case I lock my self out of the majority of PvP players.

Now it seems I can’t get Darkrift/the Dark set on my main save, is that genuinely the case or can I get her armour/weapon by other means?

I’m not above using cheat engine to lower my level to get this stuff(If I figure out how to adjust my level/stats…), I’m actually really fucking annoyed they’ve implemented a questline that works like this.[/details]

finally found the last switch to open the door out of that stupid swamp and i’m getting wrecked by the abyss watchers. It’s not a good look when you can’t kill any of the adds with 2 backstabs… argh.

Don’t fight the adds. They will fight each other. Stay focused on the main Abyss Watcher.

It’s done for bro, my advice is when you start another character make sure you knock out that quest line and just transfer the set to your main

Welp, I got these bosses under my belt:

[details=Spoiler]Dancer of The Boreal Valley
Oceiros, The Consumed King
Dragonslayer Armor
Aldrich, Devourer of Gods[/details]

The first one seriously might be the hardest boss in the entire game, holy shit. It’s definitely a harder boss than anything I’ve fought in Dark Souls 2. Maybe even in Bloodborne and DS1 as well. I made 44 attempts at her total. Some of them I even summoned three people and WE STILL COULDN’T KILL HER. I can’t wait till the day I’m good enough to just walk up to that boss at the start of my playthrough and actually bring her down. Now I’m wearing her armor and using her weapons, shit looks uncontrollably sick. My thief has transcended.

The boss I’m talking about was shown in a bunch of trailers but I’ll spoiler her appearance anyway:

^That armor is SO LIGHT and offers a TON of protection for its weight class. I fucking love it, that purple trail that follows behind you is sick as fuck too.

In regards to the rest of the bosses, all of them were awesome. Actually, I’ve loved EVERY boss in this game. I agree a lot of them seem pretty easy compared to some of the stuff we’ve seen in previous games, but goddamn are they fun fights and god DAMN are all of these designs awesome. I’m REALLY excited to delve into this game’s lore once I’ve beaten it, some of these guys have REALLY obvious ties to previous concepts in DS1 but there’s still a bunch of unexplained connections.

Yesterday I managed to get to Lothric Castle, and fight:

[details=Spoiler]Young Prince Lothric. I only had time to make 3 attempts before I went to bed, but that’s also a REALLY cool boss imo. When the second half of that fight starts and he goes super saiyan with dat healing touch powerup. Shit gets pretty real. I like that he’s kicking your fucking ass and he can’t even stand up. Imagine if he could.

I’m having more trouble deciding my favorite bosses now. It’s between The Dancer, Prince Lothric, and Oceiros.

And speaking of Oceiros, is there anything of value back there in the room behind his boss door? All I found was a Gesture.[/details]

Spoiler

You missed an entire area in the room behind Oceiros. There is an illusory wall behind the chest at the back of the room. Also, that gesture let’s you access another hidden area

I agree about the Dancer, that is a fight that continually gives me some trouble. I did it at level 35 on my last run and it was quite a challenge. Also, I’m thinking the Twin Princes music might be my fav theme in the game

I knew there was more to that room.

Where can I use the gesture?

I talked to Yuria to advance to her quest line and she dropped a bomb on me.

Spoiler

She told me to go to the Dark chamber at Ador Londo. Holy Shit I can go to Ador Londo!? The castle in Irithyll foreshadowed Ador Londo well in that case. Knowing this the past areas I been to make so much sense now. Smoldering Lake is what’s left of Izalith.

Spoiler

Go to the Dungeons. If you have one of the shortcuts unlocked (I’m assuming you do), go across the small bridge occupied by two Jailers, then go down the stairs (the stairs with 3 more Jailers) and make a right to use the shortcut, then just take the elevator down and when you get off you will be in an open area with a few dead knights and a dragon statue on a carpet. Next to the dragon statue, use the gesture. You will get a cut scene and access to a cool new area

Spoiler

Parts of Smoldering Lake are what remains of Ash Lake as well, in all likelihood.

Spoiler

How the fuck this bitch nigga Patches still alive and un-hollowed after all this time?

[details=Spoiler]The same way half of these returning characters are still alive: the curse of undeath.

They might as well have made that dude the God of Mischief or something, dude transcends universes even, considering he appears in the Demon’s Souls continuum as well. [/details]

Spoiler

I doubt it. The characteristics of Ash Lake isn’t present. There wasn’t any dragon remains, mushrooms or anything like that.

[details=Spoiler]The Mushrooms were in The Great Hollow and Darkroot Basin for the most part…them not being there doesn’t really have any relevance.

Smoldering Lake DOES have the giant Arch Trees though, a geographical landmark we’ve only seen in Ash Lake and the dragon memories, which are basically one in the same area. Ask Lake was also extremely close to the Demon Ruins, so it’s possible.

Nothing for certain yet though, I need to research the lore more. [/details]
