2 Collector’s Editions leaked, regions unclear still. Before reading the prices I was like “fuck yeah, Prestige Edition with Lord of Cinder statue!”…then I saw the price tag :s Oh well, Collector’s Edition will suffice.
Does the prestige edition come with like 10 blow jobs, or something?
500 dollars for just a lil bigger statue is insane.
Any merchandise from these game seems to be super fucking expensive. I was all but set to buy this bad boy thinking it was in the normal $100 range for a Japanese PVC statue…$300-$400…GTFO. I’m assuming because all of it is so limited in production, yet fans are clamoring for this stuff so I don’t get why they just don’t put out a few lines of the more popular characters like Solaire, Patches, Artorias, etc.
Because Fromsoft knows finding good toys from their games is like finding a fucking unicorn.
So they charge up the dick for them.
bandai can and has made a shit ton of godlike toys. Didn’t they get funded by them also?
So what’s the problem.
As long as they don’t use that shitty company that makes transformers toys
That tree boss though!
Man that Bloodborne statue looks cool but fuck that price tag.
I like that the combat looks faster than the older Dark Souls games. It looks more at Demon’s speed.
I think parries are going to make or break the game, since backstabs seem to be nerfed really hard.
Holy crap that was awesome. SO glad the Murakumo is still in it too
Pre Orders are up gents, go get that shit.

I’m in a constant state of self-contradiction, because while I really want to see more and more of this game I also want to skip every new gameplay video so everything is as fresh as possible when I finally get my hands on it. The pre-release struggle of a new Souls game is always killer.
I absolutely love everything they’ve shown so far though. It looks like they’re adopting Bloodborne’s speed, Demon’s Souls atmosphere, and Dark Soul’s aesthetic. You can already clearly tell a different hand is behind its creation when compared to Dark Souls II just by looking at it.
I got DS2 on sale for my Xbox One, but I’m not good at it at all. However, I enjoy the atmosphere and I like the way it plays. Comparing the third game, which seems to be faster, to DS2, should I immediately go out and purchase DS3 or should I go back and play Demon’s Souls and DS1?
Not that it’s really important you play them in any specific order, but every Souls is a great game that’s worth a playthrough on its own. I would definitely recommend playing all of them, moreso Demon’s Souls or DS1 over Dark Souls II honestly. DSII is still an incredible game though.
Also, why haven’t we played yet? Most of my characters are on the Xbone version. You should shoot me a PM the next time you hop on, I probably have a character within your range so we could play together.
I’m hardly ever human, and when I am, I try to get as much done as possible. I just beat the Tower of Giants’ boss yesterday, and I lost humanity there. Thankfully found the bonfire by the Wharf and a human effigy, but whenever my buddy and I try to play, we can never connect. We both got the rings with the list of the different gods, stood in the same place, and all that good stuff, and it never works.
You can restore your humanity by killing a boss in someone else’s world too, fyi. It’s helpful when you’re low on effigies and also want to explore a new area without taking any real risks.
Try to save one or two effigies until we can play. You mean Forest of Fallen Giants, right? There could be a myriad of reasons you can’t seem to find your friend. Are you sure you guys have a Soul Memory that’s close to each other? That’s the most important thing to consider when trying to find someone else. Are you using the same gods when you use the ring? Is he human when he tries to summon you, and vice versa? Do you know if you have a strict, moderate or open NAT type on your internet? Have you tried without the ring?
Will do. I have one on hold for now.
Nah, Heide’s Tower of Flame (my bad, mistyped earlier). My buddy actually helped me get past the Forest a couple months ago before I dropped the game (around the time Destiny: Taken King came out), and I was stuck for a while dying at Heide’s Tower until I forced myself to push through the area.
I’m not at all sure what Soul Memory is. We used the same gods, and actually switched between the gods while trying. I know I normally have a moderate or open NAT type.
Soul Memory is the section outlined in red in this picture:
It’s the total amount of souls that have ever passed through your character. Whenever you eat an item soul, kill a boss, or kill an enemy, your soul memory is permanently increased by how many souls said item or kill gave you. Your Soul Memory needs to be close to your friend’s Soul Memory for you to be able to find each other.
For example, if your Soul Memory is only 1500 and his is at 1,000,000, you definitely won’t be finding him any time soon. Lol.
I thought this was a REALLY interesting discussion on Dark Souls 3 lore. Or a least, very good speculation.

At the end of Dark Souls 1 & 2, you have the option to inherit the darkness and begin the dark age of humanity or to rekindle the age of fire and start the cycle anew. Kingdoms fall and rise over the span of thousands of years, but a monarch always appears in every age. The player plays as this monarch.
Whenever you kill a boss in Dark Souls, you’re used to seeing “You defeated” or whatever. Now, when you kill a boss, the message reads: “***Heir of Fire Destroyed”***. That’s pretty fucking different than what we usually see and I can only imagine it has a large amount of relevance with the game’s story.
My theory? Look at the first two Dark Souls games. When you start them, you seem to be entering the kingdom when the events of the world have already passed hundreds and hundreds of years ago. In Dark Souls 3, I think you’re being placed almost right after the cataclysmic event that wipes out most of civilization. The beginning of the apocalypse, essentially. Humanity isn’t even a concept in this game, you consume embers instead which puts you into “Lord of Fire” form.
I think the player character is a part of a power struggle, or maybe part of some sort of hunt. These “Heirs of Fire” imply that its something or someone who has or will inherit The Flame, and become the next monarch of the age. The fact that you’re seeking out and killing these Heirs is really interesting, and it leads me to believe that maybe for whatever reason you are trying to end the age of humanity. You are trying to bring about the dark age that would finally end the eternal cycle of monarchs and kingdoms rising and falling. You would be ending the curse of the undead, the plague of demons and monsters, and all life essentially would slowly come to a halt. You would be bringing about the true end of the world, and not just the beginning of a new cycle. This makes sense if you also consider the fact that this will be the last Dark Souls game of the trilogy.
The question is why though, why bring about a dark age? Maybe humanity is sick and tired of their mortal form and the curse of infinite undeath. Maybe someone realized the futility of these cycles. Maybe your character just wants the power for themself. It’s hard to say at this point.
I just wanna fucking play this game already.
