So I beat the game yesterday, including the “hidden” bosses. Overall, I’m still not sure how I feel about the game. I definitely think people will be playing PVP for a while, because the weapon variety Souls games are known for is back; plus it doesn’t have a lot of the dumb bullshit DkS2 had (all rolls feel like fatrolls, hard to obtain orbs, etc). As for the PVE, I think I might need to playthrough again on the English version (playing on the JP version has been a pretry big challenge) before I give an opinion. I will say that one of the bosses I encountered is probably the coolest, most epic boss I’ve ever fought in a Souls game. However, a few of the bosses seemed sort of lazy (one was a reskin, one was literally just a bunch of regular enemies, most were “sword and board”). Despite all that, there were some cool ones (puzzle, gimmicks, etc). Overall I think I really like the game: the areas look gorgeous, good music, and it was definitely harder than Bloodborne. I just need to play through again before I can say for sure
am i the only person that is waiting on the ps4 US release and just burying their head under the sand? like seriously i’m trying to avoid any and all information about this game, which is hard cause it’s all over twitch and youtube right now with info… I just want a completely fresh run-through where i get bodied like my blind runs of the other games
I’m trying my best to avoid it. I’ve watched less than a minute of content on Twitch. Mostly just to confirm that, yes, do want to play the game. GMG’s current deal is 20% off, so I finally threw down for DS3 and the season pass on PC.
ill just start one of Northenlions videos then skip through it to see if anything cool happens or if i see any interesting gear. even if i do see something “spoiler-ish” it’ll be completely without context.
Hey man, what’s your take on the music? It’s a fairly big deal to me. I’m still getting this day 1, but I want to know if the score matches the greatness that DS1 and bloodborne was.
I found the music to be really good. In fact, one of the boss scores is up there as my favorite of all time. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed on that front.
Phew, that’s good to hear! Really looking forward to that, but looking forward to this game in general. Bloodborne quenched my thirst after the dissapointment that DSII was but I need a proper DS.
Thank you guys for using spoiler tags, seriously. I hope everyone else who posts in here follows suit.
I think I got hit with another spoiler yesterday, unfortunately…FromSoft uploaded another trailer to their Facebook page, and videos on Facebook start playing automatically so…yeah. Got hit with some stuff I would’ve rather not seen.
It’s only gonna get harder to avoid shit like this the closer we come to the Western release.
I don’t think DSII is a bad game at all. I think it took a lot of steps back from what we’re used to as Souls fans, but that’s more my incessant nitpicking of details in a franchise I love more than it is me actually disliking aspects of the game.
When I take a step back and reflect, I don’t really think I’ve ever played a Souls game I would actually call “bad”.
No souls game is bad but there is always a best and a worst. DaS2 is considered the worst and most people who have played it would probably rate it a 9/10 still
