Fist weapons, whips and daggers are viable for sure but they’re also playing the game on hard mode haha.
As someone that used to powerstance scythes it’s hilarious but also incredibly difficult as they’re very slow and you need to hit the sweet spot. You could do insane amounts of bleed or dark damage though.
The Hands of God were insane. They were slow for fists but B strength and faith scaling and they knocked people down. It was mental. Wrath of God going straight through walls and shields made it hard to turtle up against it as well. Wasn’t as popular as it should have been due to the massive amount of skill it took but was completely badass.
Ultra Greatswords (or any of those really slow weapons) always make me sad in DS3. The butchering of poise severely affected how much fun I was able to have with them.
I’ve started pvping. Level 70 as Aldriches faithful. What’s the best area for consistent ganks? Is 125 still pvp endgame or do people just overlevel and troll an arena like Tichy?
There’s a healthy amount of players at all levels, seemingly. I haven’t had trouble finding people in the arena at level 250, but within the actual world you run into a lot less people obviously.
As far as I’m aware, for PvP within the world people usually stick between 115-125. If you want to do some really silly ganking shenanigans, I would also recommend getting a decent build to (no higher than 60) and fucking around with the Wolf Blood Covenant. There’s tons of low level traffic coming through that area usually, so as long as your soul level and weapon range matches up you’ll see a lot of invasions.
At level 70 I have 20 vigor, 10 attunement, 24 endurance, 20 vitality and the rest spread between strength and Dex. 10 int and faith.
Running Refined Zweilhander +7, full Lothric Knights, Parry dagger, Carthus Flame Axe. I have favor, cloranthy, havels and llyods sword ring.
So far PvP is pretty free. I trade favourably with everything so mostly I just super armour through attacks and spam people dead. Stomp and the 1h running R1 and charge r2 are great for mixing things up.
I think in general the stats gained do not outweight the damage coming in and there are just better items in general that give you benefits without making you take extra damage. The only item that makes you take more damage that is kinda “worth” it is the ring that gives you more invul frames on your dodge because it becomes really, really annoying to hit you in PvP. Even then it’s more of a troll item since a mistake causes you to take so much extra damage.
