The long health bar makes Midir extra frustrating to co-op regardless, because if you do moderately well, each fight takes SO LONG.
And you never know the quality of the other phantoms that are brought in. A lot just die instantly, and then you’re left with one short the entire fight.
AND a lot of people (myself included) co-op to train themselves for attempting the boss fight in their own world. Meaning, they go in to learn the fight. Which is troublesome when Midir’s tail can one-shot people. I overleveled myself for Midir on NG because I mostly got hit by his tail when co-oping, and I thought that was the damage level I should expect.
It also doesn’t help that for a while, it was hard to get summoned for the Ringed City part without getting taken to Midir. It got to the point that “got led to Midir” has become a meme over on r/DarkSouls3. While I was leveling up, I would place my summon sign way down the staircase leading to the enemy-strewn path after the second Ringed City bonfire, and people would STILL wander down and try to bring me to Midir. I heard stories of people getting summoned in front of the Spear of the Church boss fog and being brought to Midir.
Ran into this hacker twice this evening - first as this white phantom, later on as a player. Both cases were the same: Visibly hit the player with several attacks, no damage taken. At one point you can see the lifebar, but it doesn’t actually go down - I suspect a status effect caused it.
Kinda neat that I’ve gone a full year of playing before I ran into a hacker. Got a little taste of what it must feel like for PC players all the time.
A fun little invasion trick in the Ariandel snowfields. If I spawn in the “back” area with the tower, I always make a little detour to get rid of the snowshelf where people fall through, as a shortcut to the bonfire area.
See, with the snow there, that long fall means no damage. WITHOUT the snow there, it’s one hell of a damaging drop.
Not that widely. It has high riposte damage and S Dex scaling but if you use a rapier people tend to go for estoc since it has the range, plus lots of people don’t think the weapon art is any good
That said, I like the weapon a lot too and it has 2 hit combos from many attacks
I do if they’re alone. Most hosts don’t have experience dueling so one on one is plenty favorable
Actually, I’ll even do it if there’s only 2 of them since again, most hosts and phantoms don’t have much experience and do a lot of over reaching and being greedy
i’m lvl 110 currently. taking a break for the moment but i will farm abit later and get 120 fast.
Dropped the Crow quills. Sneak peek at what the char is shaping up 2 become :
Anyone still play? I finished Demon’s Souls, 1 and 2 with Bloodborne and all the DLC and I’m finally getting around to getting 3.
Haven’t looked up builds yet but in all of the above games I tend to use a Winged Spear type weapon 2h. I like the reach/tracking and the ability to play footsies and poke and roll.
