Yeah, most supers that people do outside of combos (beam supers and the like) become active within 5 frames. It’s good to know that it’s the first 5 frames that allow you to block, but I don’t think the “try to wait a few frames then Bold Block” situation will come up often in actual play.
How many frames is Devil Trigger start to finish? Would it cover the things that Bold Blocking fails against or is there an obnoxious frame range between the two where neither will work?
4 frame startup, 4 frame recovery. Enough time to DHC and block +8 frame moves I guess.
I’m not sure I understand the concern here. Anything that is over 5 frames after flash is slow enough to easily time a Bold Block. I don’t have the most precise timing out there and I can easily and very consistently X-factor during the 3 frames after Dormammu’s hyper flash before Chaotic Flame comes out. With Bold Blocking, your window to input Bold Blocking is 66% bigger.
Also, there are few, if any, Hypers that have over 6+ frames of startup after flash and used as punishes to whiffed normals. In fact, the only one I could find was Hulk’s Gamma Crush with 10 frames after flash, and it’s only usable outside of combos because of the ridiculous amount of invincibility during the pre-flash and post-flash start-up.

Tested out my capture card recently, and recorded some of my match-standard combo confirms for a friend.
It’s nothing amazing, but it’s solid stuff for a Dante / Sent pairing, with some Sent/Akuma extras. Hope it helps.

I’ve been running Dante/Sent/xx since the game dropped, and I’m finally seeing hella progression as I get the hang of Versus-series mechanics (I’m used to not jumping, hah). More and more, I feel that Dante/Sent is a stupidly powerful combination. I really don’t think Sentinel uses any assist better than he does Jam Session, and Drones gives Dante alot of interesting blockstring/mixup/combo options. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if these characters make up 2/3rds of one of the “endgame” teams.

From that video, I learned that Sentinel & Dante may be the new Best Friend combo ^-^. Like the combination alot and the vid.
Sidenote: Dante can start the Dhc glitch with the first hit million dollars super, not sure if known.
Dante sentinel is decent, but no-where near best friends caliber. W/A is godhand.

Dante comebacks can make people so salty if you do it the lame way (L3 XFC + Devil trigger + LASERBEAMS)
I disagree because Drones assist, while giving the obvious +4 zoning +4 rushdown to about anyone, Dante can use the Drones to combo things he can’t with any other assist. The best being comboing after Reverb Shock/Fireworks. You can bait out advancing guard or catch them poking, call Drones, and hit them with the fireworks and combo after. You can even combo Jet Stream/Fireworks if you call Drones before it if you’re at full screen. There’s also that whole reset ground bounce combo with Sky Dance + Drones in the corner. He’s also like the best DHC glitch partner ever.
On top of that, Dante assist is great for Sentinel.

I’m not gonna dispute this, because the last thing I want to be is “MvC3 Theory Fighter #35924.” All I’m saying is, it’s way too early to make the kind of argument you’re making. How many teams are even close to being developed in this game? Wolvie/Akuma, Mags/Sent, maybe She-Hulk/Tron. This game needs hella time to breathe before you can say who is going to tear who to ribbons.

I don’t theory fight, ever. I use hard evidence and tournament winnings, combined with the honest capabilities of a team compared to another, and D/S has nothing compared to W/A.
