Since I noticed that not a lot of people are using many of Dante’s projectiles, I made a video showcasing some things you can combo off of some of the lesser used ones and explaining how to cancel into them:
Projectile video
Nice breakdown of the projectiles. Great to see something other than 4 beehives strung together and actual useful tactics. Much appreciated.
As free as we may be, you can’t pretend that a cosplay con is going to have our region’s marvel players.
Ryan Hunter’s Dante: Justin.tv - Option-Select.com’s stream - Option-Select.com’s SSF4 and MvC3 Stream
Haha, it was actually with the entire Washington Blazblue scene after the con. I didn’t even go to the con.
Ryan’s double shredder BnB looks pretty cool, damage seems a bit low but I’d guess the meter gain is quite high, eh?
I dunno if Ryan comes here, but someone needs to let him know that standing light, pause standing light is going to get him mauled. All of Dante’s normals are sharply negative, you can’t really use that kind of stagger pressure, especially when his normals are often twice as slow as other character’s normals to begin with.
Hahaha, the blazblue scene. 'Cause that has relevance to marvel.
Man, they would be at sakuracon.
I had some hope for them, cause Norcal BB is STRONG in marvel.
But yeah, don’t worry, I didn’t think they were Washington’s best marvel or anything. Next time I’m up there I’ll give you a call, eh?
A strong handful of the good bb/gg players are doing very well in mvc3, much better than people that played 2 seriously are, with the exception of justin.
^ I believe that goes all around the country lol.
YouTube - MvC3 Dante and Zero Combo Here some combos with Dante and Zero~ Sorry if it is nothing new~
Off a c.L, my combo does 860k anywhere on the screen, costs 1 meter, and builds about 2.75 meters, and is extremely consistent (no acid rain loops, no charge shot loops, etc).
I disagree, because in theory you may be right, but in practice anything works in moderation. If you watch a few matches, you’ll see that I use that very sparingly, and I get a lot of hits off it. People don’t really mash normals during your pressure in this game – they try to pushblock as fast as possible. And even though Dante’s s.L and c.L may be relatively slow, when people miss a pushblock, they get c.M, not their own c.L, and doing s.L -> nothing is a great way to bait a pushblock.
Also, I’m kind of embarrassed that of all the footage of me in the archives, that specific part was linked. That set was played at 4am after a 9 hour session, and me and Dark Hokage were just messing around. I was playing my team is the wrong order on purpose, because I was trying to practice some new stuff with Dorm on point using my assists.
If you want to see better videos of my Dante, check OS’s youtube: YouTube - OptionSelectDotCom’s Channel, though I would stick to the more recent stuff. Anything over a couple of a weeks wont be good, as I’ve only been playing Dante for about a month. There’s only a few recent matches of mine there now, but I have a bunch more that will be uploaded between today and the weekend.
Loved it! I love the synergy between Zero and Dantes DHC options. I use nearly the same combo after Zero’s rainbow when I DHC to devil trigger.
Here’s 2 alright combos. 1st one is in devil trigger mode, and the second one is in x-factor mode, but doesn’t need x-factor to do. Last part on the second combo I didn’t complete, kinda froze up; still learning. Is there any other nice moves I can add at the end that will flow smoothly?
edit: neverrrminnnnndddddd ahaha
uh, pretty horrible there. get with the times.
you should be worrying more about the beginning of your combos than the end. using mash attacks that do multi hits early completely destroys any damage you might hope to get out of a combo. 6h mash ruined damage scaling, two lightning bolts ruined damage scaling, torpedo - ruined damage scaling.
Interesting Dante play.

16:35, Dante can use Million Dollars to start the DHC glitch?
Yes. I’m not a practitioner of DHC glitch, but if I remember correctly, as long as you DHC before a Hyper does damage*, any time your capture state is initiated by a non-Hyper move (like Grapple), you can use any Hyper. That’s why Magneto can use Magnetic Tempest to DHC glitch.
I’m at work so I couldn’t watch that video you referenced, but when Dante’s DHC glitch off Grapple was discovered, I tried it with both Devil Trigger and Million Dollars.
*Contrary to what I said before, you can actually hit with the first bullet of Million Dollars and still initate DHC glitch (seemed inconsistent in my limited experience). Additionally, Trish’s DHC glitch off Peekaboo actually requires one hit of Max Voltage to hit.
Dante’s grapple with kalina ann (rocket launcher) puts your opponent into a state which allows the dhc glitch like magneto’s hyper grav.
I think everyone is aware by now that grapple and Crazy Dance put people in a capture state compatible with DHC glitch. I believe Ryuga was asking about Million Dollars because most people generally use Devil Trigger after grapple/Crazy Dance.
Btw, Ryuga - Devil Trigger actually has to be used after Crazy Dance because the startup on Million Dollars lets the opponent touch the ground and roll out.
Thanks Liquid!
EDIT: And yeah Tanner, I already knew about Grapple, but thank you anyway.
Lmfao, daayyynnngggg. I know your life revolves around this game but shieetttt. I wasn’t trying to demonstrate how to get the most out of a Dante combo, or taking damage into consideration. I was simply showing a combo that I thought was pretty dope, including the 2 moves in devil trigger mode, along with that rapid kick move. Pretty stylish in-game if I do say so myself, and the other combo was decent as well involving a bold cancel teleport to sky dance. It beats basics, but damn, Mr. high expectations over here. Hahahah, you sir are a fucking DICK. :nono:
