Dante Video Posting Thread

You have some of the basic idea, with missiles and a little more effort from Dante you can bring your opponent from one side of the stage to the other(even off a jumping S or hammer), you can also get more acid rain loops in your combos with hidden missiles(so far I’v managed to get 3), and also gives more options to go for acid rain mixups mid screen, going mid screen to corner while building two meters also becomes brain dead easy with Dante/Missiles.

And zoning becomes that much more retarded and cheap, literately filling the screen with missiles that track down your opponent, characters like Haggar, Wolverine and Iron fist or characters with little to no projectiles/teleports of their own can’t do anything to get near you, hell even characters with teleports still have trouble getting in on you with all the cheap crap you can pull by spamming hysteric, air play and acid rain while calling Doom missiles.

So heres my horrible Dante being mauled to death by Joker`s Magneto, someone tell me what to do! Its too scary!

i only watched the first game, but stop pressing buttons. ive been a dante player since vanilla (in fact i met you last year) and lemme tell you you could definitely do that in vanilla, but it doesnt fly in this game.

magneto + drones is scary for any character though (even zero) so dont worry about it. without drones magneto is no where near as much of a threat.

Well I suppose I can do that, but I guess im at the mercy of Magnus no matter what happens lol.

was at some ottawa tournament, cant remember what it was called. all i can tell you is i have an afro and you were with a friend at the station beside me.

It was the battle royale tournament. I was there too but I was hungover as shit. I lost 2-0 and ended up playing casuals with MKP the whole day.

As someone who’s MM’d joker before, i’m telling you straight up. You’re getting bodied by Drones. That is the main issue here. You don’t have an assist capable of blowing Drones up, so you end up blocking the whole time and blocking in the game is bad. Your Dante is also doing some weird stuff. Raw teleport into hammer doesn’t work in this game.

Against mags rushing in, airplay and s.M generally beat all his approaches. You really gotta find a way of taking care of the drones, cause those basically give Magneto free reign to do whatever the fuck he wants. Dante isn’t one of those characters who can play at superjump height and therefore disregard drones, so if you can’t find a way to deal with the drones, you’re pretty much done. You might want to try Million Dollars and DHC into Goddess Bracelet just to keep him honest with those drone calls. If he’s approaching with drones backing him up, a preemptive crystal does wonders as it’s active forever, anti airs, leads to full combos and neutralizes drones. If Mags is on you already, Dante’s options are pretty limited since the hammer nerf.

I also saw you struggling with the Airgrab combo and I realized I made a combo video for Dante already in XFactor and that most people have no idea what to do if they get an airgrab BEFORE they pop it, so i’ll release something later this week.

But yeah, your Dante needs to put in a bit of work. You dropped a couple easy combos and were a bit too J.S happy.

But anyway, the only air grab confirm I could think of is j.HHH XFC->land->volcano->j.H->airplay->j.S->stuff. (XF2-3). Some easy confirms for XF1-3 would be nice.

I’ve been experimenting with throws and Hidden Missiles. I’ll go for throws or tick throws while it’s been called. The combo gets scaled like crap, but even if I don’t get the throw I have HMs on the screen to go for mix ups. It can work with ground and air throws I believe.

This may seem difficult to premeditate, but if you can safely get Hidden Missiles on the screen it’s going to give you a huge amount of advantage anyway. I demonstrate, poorly probably, how Stinger can OS as a throw and what options you get off of it.
