Dante Video Posting Thread

I swear I learn something new every time I watch Yipes play Dante.

I love yipes but there wasn’t anything new about Dante play in that video.

I was more impressed by his Wesker, which makes no sense at a ll

Wesker has custom made shades so he is always dressed to impress.

Same thing I was thinking besides the ridiculous amount of chip he got by doing Stinger int Reverb repeatedly. The only problem with that was if Sentinel jumped and Dante missed it could’ve lead to a big punish. Also, IIRC, that isnt the full video

I meant more the use of Drive. I never really use that move. I know it’s good but I’m usually too busy chucking Hysteric. If he got his combos up to par his Dante would be really impressive.

I’ve actually always felt Drive was/is better than Hysteric bc it’s faster. Against good players, I usually alternate between the two since I know sooner or later they’re gonna jump.

so i saw the japanese video from the front page of SRK today the one of raccoon combo video and i went into the japanese guy youtube channel and he has some SICK dante combos killing ghost rider and nova with 1 bar, comboing of a back trow into some sick stuff u guys should check it out i think most if it its new technology

What’s the combo Yipes does with Wesker to Phoenix when she goes Dark? Seems to take care of her pretty good.

IIRC It looked as though he does a command grab the moment she touches the ground

Yipes easily has one of the best Dante’s hands down, not in terms of style but in terms of effectiveness, being able to get in on his opponents, “finishing his plate” and the fact that his combos show little damage scaling. his Dante is ideal for the type of player who would want to use the character in a tournament, in the video with Yipes vs F Champ, his Dante combos were short and sweet, but to the point and VERY clean cut, almost like he knew EXACTLY how many hits should be in his combos to avoid damage scaling, and in the video there was hardly a time where you will see a dropped Dante combo.

I learned a ton from watching that video, and as I mentioned before Yipes’s Dante sets a good example of how Dante should be used in a tournament scene. during casuals, sure yea get as fancy and as imaginative as your heart desires, but in a tourny where one dropped combo can mean you are going home early you might want to be a little more practical with your combos.

note: also just to clarify IMO, in terms of skill it’s clear Yipes is starting to get like how he was in his marvel 2 days, he was kind of free in vanilla, but now he is slowly getting back to marvel God that he used to be…

Posting this to all 3 character threads but heres a showcase of my current team, theres a few combos where i could have squeezed in a wall bounce (did this at like 3 in the morning lol) but enjoy!
Beginning stuff is meter intensive but the later stuff is more practical

Yipes will never be Richard Nguyen in my book, but that’s just me dick riding.

i was trying to upload my corner bnb on youtube but the quality of the video changes when its uploaded anyone knows the problem? the video is almost unwatchable :frowning:

Nothing new, but the bars it makes are legit :). Any of you guys with good execution could try to add another acid rain.

I would love if they used more popular assists people run with dante like drones or vajra

yep, their teams just seems so unlikely XD

Lol I mean the combos are good and do alot of damage but im not running tasky parabolic arrows and ironman unibeam on the same team ever… I like when I see combos with chris landmine in the corner I just think =/
