You have to understand, my comments come from a Match Viable perspective. I used to make combo videos, they’re great and all; but I think a lot of material in this thread comes from a Rose Colored Glasses place, where people have high hopes of what is actually consistent in matches. I think there needs to be a clear line between “Level up your game Match Material” and “Look what luls I can have Laboratory Fun”, when it comes to combos.
I know the RNG made a measurable difference in Vanilla(reference: Acid Rain infinites on the whole cast, much like the Anki Hou Stunlock infinite). I haven’t heard anything that says otherwise, in Ultimate. Doesn’t the RNG cause occasional differences in height and timing, for acid rain combos; doubly so for Double Acid Rain combos? And while sS / Volcano / Hammer is a great set of tools in terms of what timing range they can cover… that doesn’t help if you don’t know which tool you need, until the rain’s come down and it’s too late to jump, etc. So, my questions would be…
1.) Can these combos be done ten times in a row?(there should really be more proof of concepts like this, when people are proposing serious-use combos, for consistency)
2.) Why are there no match videos of people doing reliably impressive things here? Aside from my matches with Honzo(Which were online, c’mon), the only other stuff is some guy asking for help with his team combodrop(p.s., no offense Ryken. As for advice, like someone mentioned, you really need to call Vajra whenever you have screen control. Like during blockstrings, or when they’re about to block a projectile. That’ll lead to teleport mixups, which if blocked, will lead to airdash mixups, etc. Use Vajra to maintain control of the match. And really, fix the combos, realtalk, that’s damage on the floor.) People have plenty of recording devices, it would seem. And it’s not like Dante is an unpopular character.
Well, Im sure anyone/everyone knows a combo that they cant pull off consistently. But that’s all execution error. Im not gonna lie, IDK what the hell is RNG, but I can tell you, as long as you hit Prop Shredder as early as possible and you cancel into Acid Rain at the first possible moment, it will always hit at the top of the screen. So really it all depends on how you time the second Acid Rain. The thing is, (in this game atleast) as long as you launch the second Acid Rain early enough, you’ll be able to do sS into jS/Hammer. Usually, if they are in range for a jump into Hammer, they are also in range for a sS into jS because Dante can hit the opponent with the tip of his sword. So basically, you just have to know if your timing of the second Acid Rain was off or not. If you know it was early enough, do sS into jS. If you know you did it later than usual, try a Volcano xx jS instead. Using my bnbs, (can only get one Acid Rain after Hammer/jS into Cold Shower xx Prop) I can assure you, I always get the first Acid Rain to connect at the top. And I’ve tried two Acid Rains on a few characters midscreen and they still work because the dash puts Dante right under them.
I too only play online. Nonetheless, the only combos in my videos that shouldnt really be used are the ones that I havent given notations for because they are just Stylish “look what Dante can do” combos.
I sent you a message on XBL, and haven’t gotten a response yet, bro; Sorry for re-uploading something freely distributed, with it obviously marked with where it’s from, and copying your donate URL, though, I’m sure that caused mad problems for you, oh shit do da nova force, etc.
If your sodium is high enough, I can take it down. But the first step in that process is usually responding to the initial messages said hoster sent you. Just sayin’.
RNG = Random Number Generator. Acid Rain isn’t just execution; there is, in fact, an element of 100% randomness to it. So it’s entirely possible for one acid rain combo, to fail the next time you try to do it the exact some way, etc. More acid rains, more randomness. I’m hoping to find a double-AR setup that’s consistent enough to get around that, but admittedly haven’t put a lot of effort into it. Props and ARs cut into damage so much in ultimate, Charge Shots is really looking like the way to go to get a top shelf BnB down pat.
If i haven’t responded then ive yet to make a decision therefore i didn’t give you permission, its content that I own. I appreciate you stole it with class and were nice enough to mark everything, but you still stole it. I’m not mad just pointing out you stole it :\
if I was salty I would highlight the stream upload it to my youtube flag your video for removal and then delete the highlight from my youtube, thats me salty
Okay but I can tell you, these bnbs work 100%. The only problems are, sometimes AR wont come out whether its because I pressed the second :l: too fast or because I tried to do it too early which is just an execution error. The only other problem is after I hit them down with jS it’s hard to tell if I can dash in range for Cold Shower xx Stinger BC Air Trick. Sometimes the Stinger whiffs but for safety I can just do Volcano xx Beehive.
I tried doing jS Cold Shower xx Prop -> AR on MODOK a few times last night and there did seem to be a bit of randomness about whether the rain hit before he fell all the way down or not but Im sure sS into jS would’ve worked each time. Nonetheless, as I stated in the details of my first video, Im not trying to make anything as damaging as Nini or anyone else, Im just trying to give easier executable (IMO) that still give good dmg and meter bc like lots of other players, my execution isnt perfect. IMHO it’s a lot easier to do one of my AR combos consistently than it is to learn Nini’s Up Shot combos.
That’s good to hear, I’ll have to try them out; I’ll post my impressions after some time in the lab.
Demerits for whining in a Dante thread. I didn’t steal it. You don’t own it. It’s illegal for you to stream the game in the first place without Capcom’s permission. Especially for a profit. So, I really don’t think pissing in your own pool with video flagging is a good idea. I’d consider myself a gentleman when it comes to other people’s digital rights, but you have no leg to stand on here. You’re welcome for the free publicity. Cluttering up a dante thread with apparently un-mad nonsense is silly, so take the nonsense to PMs or something if it matters to you.
The faster you do the input for acid rain after the prop shredder, the faster you can follow up with another one. That always seem to work with me, on any sized character (Haven’t tested on RR.)
Here’s what I use for my AR loop in the corner: The Hammer xx Volcano j.H xx Killer Bee, s.S xx Clay Pigeon xx Prop Shredder xx TK Acid Rain xx Acid Rain s.S j.S. Hopefully, this works for everyone else as much as it works for me.
I thought you would like to know, I did the midscreen double Acid Rain combo for larger characters while facing OnlyWingedAngel online today so it’s definitely a good one to know. I havent tried the midscreen one for smaller characters online yet though
I’ve been talking about this shit since I got it day -2. How are you re-creating it?
They get hit. I’ve had it happen online where Dante crosses them up and he does reverb from the other side allowing me to kill the character bc its impossible to switch blocking that fast.
i found this in training mode just messing around like a month ago, i didn’t really think anything of it at first. on hit u just continue the combo like a normal bnb except you have to input volcano in the opposite direction. it works really well on mid sized characters including wolverine. with sentinel it pushes him through the typhoon and he gets pushed to full screen on block. so far, the only character it doesn’t work on is rocket raccoon
