I really wonder how Makoto will do against Sako. I would not be surprised if he won, or if he lost. I would like to think that the matchup is fairly close. Cammy is tough though.
Cammy can lock down Vega pretty well with just her light strikes.
That sets up her super annoying throw game.
While this is a very tough fight for Vega, I’m 100% sure Makoto is a much smarter player then I. Should be a pretty amazing set, I’m definitely looking forward to it! We’ll all probably learn a lot from this.
I almost wish there was more of like an Pro-Gamer league, where you take the pro of every character and face off. Organizing that would be a nightmare, but watching it would be really fun
Dudley’s light machingun blow when cornered.
Question: Is there actually anything you can do between Jab > L.Machine gun blow when stuck in a corner?
The japanese wiki has new matchup numbers now.
SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV Wiki - ???
4|6: Ryu, Chun, Honda, Guile, Bison, Balrog, Abel, Akuma, Cammy, Adon, Ibuki
5|5: Ken, Zangief, Sagat, Viper, El Fuerte, Fei Long, Seth, Rose, Deejay, Juri, Dudley
6|4: Blanka (!! lol), Dhalsim, Gouken, Dan, Gen, Cody, Guy, Makoto, Hakan
7|3: T-Hawk
im sorry but good blanka players are way too gimmicky to be called a 6-4 matchup.but its certainly even and winnable, just not easy mode!
It’s definitely debatable whether these are trustworthy or not cause we’re still early in the game. Especially the matchups against console characters are to be taken with a grain of salt.
Both character and player…Sako is very deadly and smart…and his links are so spot on. Cammy, the character itself also hits very hard especially on Vega.
I hope I’m wrong but i just dont see Makoto winning the set at all.
Fighting against a solid cammy is really tough…and you have to take alot of risks while getting low reward. It’s the opposite for cammy, its low risk and high reward. And you can best believe that you’ll be seeing Sako exploiting Vega’s biggest weakness…which is having no "get the fuck off me move (other than u2)* on wakeup…
You’re gonna see alot of dive kick mixups to exploit crouch tech’s and other things…but once she’s on you, she’s on you.
Hm? You get more reward from punishing Cammy than from punishing Ryu because she has low health/stun. Low reward? Nah. I’m sure Makoto knows how to open up Sako.
Sako uses the same tricks to punish throw techs though. And he uses a character that is generally very good at doing that… so he has lot’s of ways to make him pay.
that blanka match number is funny. oh well we will see. I can see Adon because he has pretty good pressure, especially insta air, but at the same time reaction ST owns the fuck out of that move. By Evo next year we should have good numbers.
Idk Vega does great damage for landing something of guess, or risk, since if your on spot with execution its always going to land on knockdown and move your opponent to the corner. so does Cammy. we shall see what happens though.
From my experience, it’s really hard to open up a solid cammy, harder than ryu. So even if i hit her, it actually doesnt feel that rewarding to me.
Lets make some predictions guys…
I’m gonna say Sako wins 10-4.
Cant wait to see this!!! Hopefully Makoto wins and shines some light on this matchup because it’s looking really dark right now
Wow Makoto’s match is tomorrow morning! I really hope he can pull it off, but Sako’s Cammy is so solid, and that seems like a bad matchup to me. Cammy matchup reminds me of Rufus with her pressure.
If I was a gambling man I’d probably say Sako 10-7. But since I’m a narcissist instead, I’ll say Makoto 10-0.
If Makoto wins we are all made men.
I’m betting Sako 10-5.
Also, on the Blanka match up, I would say with a lot of confidence that the match up is 5.5 in Blanka’s favor. Not as hard as a 6-4 for Claw, but still not an even match up.
guys sako is the worlds best player in any 2d fighter.even if cammy vs vega was a 3-7 in vega’s favour,i would still be betting on him to win.his fundamentals are way too strong.but i would definitely jizz if makoto wins or comes close to winning.
I really don’t care so much about who wins between Sako and Makoto (I really like both players), but I really do hope that Makoto shines some light on this match up since I have always believed this to be one of Claws worst match ups (along with Akuma and Rufus).
To be fair, Makoto is one of the most intelligent players I’ve seen and for him to beat someone as good/smart as Uryo was amazing (I’m not going to lie, I honestly thought Uryo was going to win). Sako on the other hand has godlike execution and knows how to exploit his character like no other. So it’s going to be an interesting set. If I had to make a prediction, I’ll probably give it to Sako for obvious reasons.
I’m sure we all agree that Blanka is by no means in Claws favor. If I had to choose one of the above categories, I’d put him under 5/5. But IMO that match up is 5.5 in Blanka’s favor. Maybe even but certainly not 6/4 in Claws favor. I also believe Ryu is, more or less, an even match up (probably 5.5 as well). Everything else seems about accurate I’d say (you forgot to put down Rufus under 6/4 btw lol).
You mean 4/6 right?
Makoto winning 6-3 right now…thanks for making me eat my words! CMON 4 MORE GAMES!!!
Sako wins 10 - 6
Well, right after i started thinking that Makoto has the possibility to win…Sako just comes back and wins 7 games straight proving why this is a horrible matchup and how easy it was for Cammy to win.
The worst thing people can be doing now is blame it all on the matchup or basing a MU opinion on a ft 10.
He caught up. It’s Sako. He didn’t fall for df.rh setups too often anymore, walking back and forth didn’t open him up much and he saw through Makoto’s mixup. Mak’s defense was excellent. I think he was simply read.
