I’ve seen vids of chases where the car gets spike stripped, loses tires, and the driver gives no fucks and keeps driving. So it can’t be assumed that doing that would have stopped this kid.
Sucks thats how this went down. But honestly its no shock that a cop will let off shots the moment they have even a fraction of an excuse for it. Cops also like to over-react as well. I remember my dad called the cops once, because this house across the street (which had just been evicted btw) had people going through it. My dad knows the landlord of that house, so he knows that wasnt any of his people going through collecting shit to sell for a turn around. It was also 2 in the morning. 6 cops showed up for a breaking and entering on a house with no tenants. I dont mean one cop showed up and called for back up. No 6 cops showed up in unison like they were a fucking train, and all it was were some teenage girls acting like fools.

That gossip website fails to mention that he was running red lights, driving the wrong way down a one-way street, and nearly running over pedestrians, who had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. When I first read the article, I thought they had pulled him over and shot him because he refused to shut off the engine. Shoddy “journalism”…
I don’t wanna say this fool deserved to die but I’m not gonna make a big deal about it, watching the vid was pretty telling. He didn’t give a damn about putting anyone else at risk.
Kid didn’t have explosives or was intentionally running people over, he was reckless, but enough to be put to death? Not sure about that.
Yeah, when I heard this on the radio, I was disgusted… but now… ehhh. I dunno. A lot of things could’ve been done to prevent this, but, what’s done is done. Still think 6 shots is a bit overkill though.

Six shots is merciful. Shooting tires could prove just as fatal if he went off the road. You don’t tase someone in a moving vehicle.

When someone’s representing a clear danger to others around him, you shoot to kill. Some guys get hit once and they can still walk around, or in this case, drive around and run over someone.
Plus, some of of the shots missed, it’s not like all six were unloaded on the guy.

He was already off road in what looks like a public park attempting to ram another police car.
We could speculate endlessly about what his actual intent was, but he was driving straight at pedestrians who had to jump out of the way of the vehicle to avoid getting hit.

A lot less criminals would run, and there wouldn’t be as many car chases, for fear of being shot.
Cops don’t follow flowcharts. They deal with situations. This is like that cop who punched a chick cuz she was attacking him while he was arresting her friend.
The cops saw a kid who was speeding around a city, nearly hitting anybody who got in his way, and was ramming cop cars. They ran him off the road repeatedly, and he proceeded to just flee again and endanger more people.
How long would you have liked this chase to have gone? Down a few more streets, while the cops bump him and he speeds past more vehicles and pedestrians? Can you imagine the outcry if this numbnut had actually killed a pedestrian? People would be bitching that the police should have done more.

It’s ok for cops to unload when they could have easily pit maneuvered the kid, like they do in every other chase, and like they do multiple times in almost all chases, but this one is different because you say so. Because you say he put the lives of others at risk.
