I agree if you attack a police officer you’ve pretty much signed your own death warrant, I’m just saying this escalated to the point that the kid got killed in a situation that I do not believe could only be ended by shooting him.
I’m not defending the police and their seemingly ever-increasing number of shoot to kills, but I’m pretty sure if that kid turned the engine off and got out of the truck, this wouldn’t have happened. I’m from the UK and only special units carry firearms here and obviously they aren’t legally available to the public. But be that as it may, it doesn’t matter if it’s a police officer, soldier, guy in a trenchcoat down a dark alley… I’m pretty sure I would do whatever someone waving a gun in my face was telling me to do. If the guy had just listened to the officer, no one would have got shot. That by no means excuses the officer for his excessive use of force, but this situation and so many others like it could be avoided if people would just listen to what the police tell them to do instead of ignoring them, answering back, trying to run away, etc.

Yes I know all chases put people at risk, but most of them don’t feature people literally driving at pedestrians and leaving the road. The cops tried several times to deal with him in a peaceful fashion (as peaceful as ramming a car into a truck several times can be). The giant flashing noisy sirens on there car are another big giveaway that the cops want you to stop your vehicle. Should you continue your getaway, you should probably know they are fucking armed and authorized to use it. This isn’t the government coming to kill you when you’re at a peace rally. This is you driving around like a fucking menace, endangering the police themselves and the fucking public.
