I might lose to that guys P-groove cuz i flat out suck against even decent P-groovers. But I’m sorry that other guy is a complete scrub, he looks like someone that has been playing CvS for about 2 weeks and just chose team scrub and completely sucks shit with it.
and I beat RF in casual play… so that means I am just as good as him too!!! Dumbest logic ever. Especially when it took place in casual play, where chances are people were fucking around with nothing on the line. Not everyone treats every casual play match as life and death, and plays seriously.
And lastly… WHO THE FUCK CARES HOW SOMEONE LOOKS ON SOME RANDOM MATCH VIDEO? Every player here looks like shit in a match where they happen to be playing badly or fucking around. Chances are if Buktooth says those guys can rape you, and he’s seen them and you both play. He’s probably right.
how is that the dumbest logic ever? kindevu was playing A-are, OTK was playing his trademark team. i beat superior players playing their serious teams. so for buktooth to come in here and say that we would “lose absolutely for free” is fucking bullshit.
yes, you’re correct, buk has seen me and the other guys play. but he hasn’t seen me play in a year. good players get better over time. we’ll leave it at that.
my nickel says that in a set of 10, we’d break even at best (at best, on their behalf). and, maybe it’s just me, but that doesn’t sound like we’d “lose absolutely for free.”
I know you know what you are doing in cvs2, just as you know that i do too. To me it seemed like those guys knew eachother to an extent and therefore the a-groove player was trying to be too careful and i think there was other shit going on too that i dont feel like getting into. My only point is that it seems to me that those guys are better than most people have been saying, i mean, i know you can tell whats going on by watching match vids, i dont know about the other people posting though because i dont know them, it seems like some of these critics are saying what they are saying due to a lack of understanding, i could be wrong though.
side note: i seem to distinctly recall whooping you up last time i played you in casual play (last match before tournament play at mayn event) does that mean i am better than you?
I think Buktooth made his comment regarding the video was garbage comment, I don’t think you need to take his comments too literally. No motive to put people down, but more of the reason of these guys are way better then how you guys are seeing them in the vid.
biggzy also said the match vids were garbage, and he’s a solid player who understands cvs2 just as well as i do. and you’re right, you did beat me a few times on arcade. i’ve also vowed to never go back to another arcade tournament because i don’t play well on non-japanese sticks. i know i know, good players adapt, but good players also have a more steady stream of competition and means of improvement than the highest CPU in the game and watching match vids. and that’s not the issue here anyways.
ohayo1234- i’m sure they are solid players. i never said the PLAYERS were garbage, i said the match was garbage. but that was a bad match in my opinion, and i don’t appreciate someone saying that some japanese dudes could beat everyone in here for free. japan doesn’t own america in cvs2 like they used to.
not trying to hurt anybody’s feelings, but it’s reality check time
from playing everybody in question (except for biggzy i think, but from watching he seems to be pretty much at the same level as you), my nickel says in a set of 10, you’d pull off one at best (and probably due to some freak accident bison jump roundhouse that somehow beats blanka elec clean, or maybe a random desperate full screen RC roundhouse scissors). i’m sorry to say, but the level is way too different.
no offense, but we’ve played probably somewhere around 10 times, and you’ve only gotten to my hibiki once. what makes you think you can even split even with the person who’s widely considered to be in the top 3 agrooves?
i’ve given you wayyyyyy bigger beatdowns than the one uma got handed, it’s just nobody’s bothered to upload any videos of it. trust me on this one, these guys are on the highest tier of japanese cvs2.
damn buk, why the fuck you beasting. you made my day with that post haha.
popo: don’t worry, youll get your shot at evo. then you can “almost” beat kindebu and get all happy about beating RF in casuals and post about it for like a year afterward
but seriously, why no arcade tourneys? that is some messed up logic. but then aagin, youre a console warrior so i can understand. that kind of mentality will eventually drive me to quit playing since arcade/console tourney environment just isnt close to the same. even nestor plays on jap sticks console better than he does arcade but he still shows up. so man up
to whomever said evilelvis is random i agree, i think hes one of the most random players ive ever playe (i mean i was watching his video vs kim, a-ken hitting with dps from half screen? wtf? waaaaaaarrennnnnnn) but he still places higher than most fools, so you -really- can’t hate…
Yeah I think Evil Elvis is decent. His Ken is random, but not too bad though. His Sakura is ehh, and I don’t know about making Sagat as an anchor in A-groove. Just my opinion.
Also whats the scoop with Texas Showdown. Any of you guys going this year?
okay, i’m gonna try and not be a dick here, but it’s gonna be hard.
first off, when did my track record against you EVER come into play? the twisted logic that you’re trying to pull doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. if you lose to those guys, and i get owned by you, that somehow means i won’t have a chance in HELL to beat them? so if memory serves me correctly, you can never beat ricky in big tournaments, ricky can’t beat kindevu, so that means you’ll NEVER be able to beat kindevu also right? here’s another example. ratio1beatdown said he can never beat arturo for whatever reason. so does that mean that whoever arturo cannot beat, ratio1beatdown would get owned by them? not necessarily, because it’s a different player who will react differently. no disrespect to any of the aforementioned players, just trying to prove a point.
and i know i know, i’ve never beaten kindevu in a tournament either. and casual play means absolutely nothing even when people are playing business teams and not fucking around. but when you’ve only been to a handful of big tournaments, casual play against top players will be taken more seriously.
when you don’t have any experience against certain characters (ie a rushdown N-iori and morrigan) you’re probably going to perform poorly against them.
maybe we should just agree to disagree on this one. i never meant to say that the PLAYERS (uma and P-iori dude) are garbage. but that video was of very poor quality to me, at least the way uma was playing it by doing really predictable/risky stuff. nestor is right, you can’t tell a person’s skills from one match video. i’m sure you could dig up some old vids of me getting owned/playing like a scrub also, but that doesn’t mean i’m a bad PLAYER. maybe i’m walking a fine line here and people won’t see the difference, but maybe others will understand what i’m saying.
but for you to come in here and say we would all get owned absolutely for free doesn’t sound right to me, especially when i’ve played and beaten top japanese players before when they weren’t messing around and playing their real teams IN CASUAL PLAY. because i’ve only played one japanese player in a tournament setting, kindevu at TS5.
i don’t understand why you’re being sarcastic and disrespectful, but i’ll roll with it.
why no arcade tourneys? because i play a very technical team where execution is key. so if i’m going to invest time/lots of money to travel FAR distances to a tournament, i’m going to be VERY pissed when i miss combos because of the sticks (nerves are a different story, ie me vs kindevu at TS5). it happened at a midwest challenge/championships at nickel city (i forget which one), it happened at the mayn event in michigan, and it’s not going to happen a third time.
and i’m guessing the arcade tournaments nestor goes to are within an hour drive or two, not 5 or 6 hours or even a plane ticket away. i’d drive to an ECC or CTF tourney if i lived that close also, arcade or not. but that’s not how it is. kentucky doesn’t have a big arcade or a yearly major going on anywhere NEAR it.
so i don’t see the bad logic, and i’d love to “man up” if it was as convenient as it is for some people. but that’s not the way things are.
that could very well be the longest post of my life other than my tournament logs, jesus. maybe i should just let my play talk for itself at FR9 and not live in the past, but everybody else’s justification/logic is coming from past events and tournaments also, so it’s kind of the same game.
Haha holy crap Campbell never seen you keep it real to such a degree on SRK before 0.0 that was pretty funny. Argument is ridiculous cause noone can tell how good someone is from one match video where there was obviously some messing around going on(didn’t I see the one dude actually look totally across at the other cabinet and laugh at some point?).
It is too bad you can’t come to final round again this year but I will try to have fun without you against all odds.
Arturo are you gonna come down here to the dirty south again?
