G-Spot says…MP4 compatible players should play it.
i had to update my quicktime version
Valle vs Kim 2
02:13 - Valle’s guard bar is flashing, tries to super jump HK his way out. I LOVE that uppercut to send him right back into the corner. :badboy:
02:16 - Valle gets up and tries to roll out of the corner the very next chance he gets to move. Kim messes up his low short combo though (possibly because he was too close, or pressed low short just a fraction of second too late), and Valle pulls off a lucky ass roll, throw. Valle was DONE is all I know. His guard was flashing, he was cornered, and Kim had full level 3. Sucks that he roll, throwed his way out of danger though.
@ whenever Kim kills somebody, he pretends he’s Ino and does the Sagat j.MP to celebrate.
Kim sure knows a lot of tricks. Sagat sweeping Guile’s d.MK -->. Blanka dash, RC elec mixed up with dash, counter hit s.LP. Blanka RC elec (blocked), max range d.LP xx kk forward, max range RC elec (unthrowable). Rolento TNP super into the corner sets up the 2P crossup glitch, Scouter Hop, random d.MK xx Patriot circles. Sagat punch throw into the corner, roll, dp+LK is both tech roll catch and 2P crossup.
Kim:
In combofiend vs you 2, at the end where you get hit by Eagle jump in HK, throw like three times. Were you trying to RC Scouter Back away? Or were you just blocking and ate the throws?
I was trying to pray to the gods, but combofiend sent me to the comboratory in his head.
-Kim
New vids were pretty good.
The Japanese match was complete garbage.
Ohayo: Good shit in the matches. But it seems like you were trying to get too fancy in alot of your matches when it came down to Rolento.
KCXJ - hey, i do j.mp too. Not to “celebrate” or anything. I never knew Ino did that, nor did i notice kim do that. I just do it to touch the ceiling =/
haha i just do it cause its his ugliest normal
blanka’s j.short > sagat’s j.strong
no one steals blanka’s j.jab from me >_<
I wouldn’t say it was garbage. Lots of jap matches you see with P-groove players involve lots of turtling and scared opponents. They seem to respect it enough to fear poking a bit more.
no i agree with biggzy 110%, that match was garbage. it was a competent iori for sure, but it seemed like uma had all the technical knowledge of A-are but didn’t know how to actually use the team. like wakeup activate vs rock when it’s pretty obvious he’s baiting you. then trying to RC hurricane kick in to get some chip damage only to eat a raging storm. and the bison vs iori match was ridiculous. uma doing those RC headstomps is like a kid getting slapped on the wrist for doing something wrong then doing it again. makes no sense.
biggzy, you coming to FR9?
you know, sagat on sagat, people should realy learn to punish the blocked tiger raid. I mean you can standing jab it if you wanna be tuff, but otherwise you can just DP it, any strength.
Does anybody know the deal with Bison’s d, u+P, P move on the block? Why is it that sometimes I can hit Bison after blocking, other times he’s completely safe and I die to random activate? The book says the move is +/-0 on the block. What does that mean though?
The book also says Terry’s Crack Shoot is +/-0 on the block, but if I block that move high, I have time to kill Terry with Sagat d.HP xx super. I don’t know if it’s a mistake, or if it’s the move just doing it’s plus or minus thing, but it’s at least -7 if I’m able to Sagat crouching fierce it.
Does it depend how early or late you go into the Devil Reverse?
=======
My friend taught me some new Rolento tricks to help me deal with low jumps and getting out of the corner today.
(I’m almost completely sure Kim knows these already, but I don’t remember seeing them in any of the videos lately.)
When Blanka is low jump on you in the corner, RC Scouter Back, come down with the DEEP spike (air d+MK), d.LP xx qcb+K…
Now you either hold back on the stick after you fly off the wall to hit with a cross-up j.MK (which seems to have recovery on the ground, making it tricky to combo after)…
… fly away to the other side of the screen…
… deep spike them again from the front…
… deep spike them right on top of their head for a random cross-up, not cross up. (This is especially useful against a DP character like Sagat, because they’ll want to DP, but they get all mixed up with the directional inputs and you flying around all weird.)
If you’re against a big character like low jumping Sagat, instead of just d.LP xx qcb+K, you can do a s.MP after the RC Scouter Back, come down with the spike.
You want to time the deep spike and the s.MP so that the opponent is unable to mash out a throw in between the gap.
After the s.MP, then you can go into random jab patterns to work his guard meter. Or even s.MP, d.LP, d.MK xx qcb+HK —> random follow up if you want.
Just block the Blanka low jumps, and after he does it twice, he’s pushed out and that’s Rolento’s opportunity to do RC qcb+HK, fly away to the other side of the screen.
A new punch throw followup/gimmick for me:
-punch throw, immediate Scouter Hop Forward, whiff j.MP, qcb+LP when you land…
Now either jump in with j.MP (which hits this time), or dash, throw.
lol, i do that sometimes too, me and my buds call it the gay claw.
Well, I’ve found some great stuff off of Kim’s site, but does anyone know where I can find some more Rolento vids?
every single one of you guys would lose absolutely for free to both namameso and uma
i concur
no we wouldn’t. how can you say that? i’ve played and beat kindevu, otaku, and bas at TS5 in casual. not trying to sound like a hardass, i’m simply saying it’s possible. and it wasn’t just one win, OTK and i split games 50/50, kindevu went about 60/40, and bas was like 70/30 over an hour of casual play amonst just us 4. and my nickel says kindevu’s A-are is better than uma’s, and OTK is a little better than namameso. just because they’re japanese doesn’t mean they’re invincible.
and yes, i’ve read sirlin’s article about scrubs watching vids, but i’m not a scrub in cvs2.
thanks
hey popo, i should be posting this in the ga thread, but whatever.
money match in cvs2 2/3 for 5$
and of course hella casuals.
